Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

You have clearly stated your position in the introduction and maintained it throughout the essay. The response addresses the prompt by discussing the necessity of water for survival and the economic benefits of providing it. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, while you mention that providing free water might be expensive for governments, this point is not fully explored or balanced against the counter-argument. To reach a higher band, ensure that each supporting point is extended with more detailed reasoning or specific, well-integrated examples rather than brief mentions.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear central topic. You use cohesive devices such as 'To begin with', 'Furthermore', and 'In addition to this' to link your ideas. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical, and there are instances where the flow is interrupted by minor grammatical errors or awkward phrasing, such as 'In addition to thai'. The progression of ideas is generally clear, but the relationship between sentences could be improved by using a wider variety of cohesive markers to create a more natural, sophisticated flow.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'contemporary era', 'hazardous', and 'necessity'. However, there are several instances of imprecise word choice and collocation errors, such as 'provided by water' instead of 'provided with water', and 'water born diseases' (should be 'water-borne'). Additionally, there are minor spelling errors like 'dicussed' and 'equlity'. To improve, focus on learning common collocations and refining your spelling to ensure that your vocabulary usage is more precise and professional.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, which is appropriate for this level. However, there are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation that occasionally hinder the reader. Common issues include missing articles (e.g., 'in one area of Bihar'), subject-verb agreement errors (e.g., 'people are affected... and prone to get'), and awkward phrasing (e.g., 'the poorer will not afford it'). While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. Focus on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy, particularly with articles and prepositions.
