Student answer (Band 5.0)

Clean water is a basic human right. therefore every home should have a water supply that is provided free of charge. i am also agree with that the water supply is basic human right because water is important part of our life

Our routine life is dependent on water for example, morning to evening we do lots of work when we used water just like brush, bath, kitchen work etc. and second reason is we consuming a less water we have face some health related issued. many kind of things we not to do without water.

In earth, one third part is having water but they water is ocean water it is salty. and forth part is clean water and that is used to drink. some people are Business to water supply for example, they starts water-plant and they are provide water some function, people who they need but they can charge those thing and raised money. and secondly some river water are stored in dam they can also charged and when fall in heavy rain they can leave the water in river then many people and Goverment faces some floods issued.

But, i am not agree with that because water is not made by science it is god gave gift so why we are price on that. and second thing was in some time people can't afford not buying water so, they died that's why i am not agreed. so, it is basic human right and free of charge.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position, but the development of ideas is inconsistent. While you identify water as a human right, the arguments are often repetitive or lack logical depth. For instance, the discussion regarding 'business' and 'dams' is somewhat tangential and does not directly support the argument for free water supply effectively. The essay lacks a cohesive structure to present a balanced view or a strong, well-reasoned argument. To improve, ensure each paragraph focuses on a single, well-developed point that directly supports your thesis statement.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is divided into paragraphs, but the logical progression between ideas is weak. Transitions are often missing or used incorrectly, such as 'and second reason is' or 'and forth part is'. The use of cohesive devices is mechanical and sometimes confusing, which makes the flow of the argument difficult to follow. Referencing is also unclear at times, particularly in the third paragraph where the connection between water plants, dams, and floods is disjointed. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring each sentence flows naturally into the next will significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is quite limited and repetitive. You rely on basic terms like 'work', 'things', and 'water' throughout the text. There are also several instances of incorrect word choice and awkward phrasing, such as 'i am also agree with that' instead of 'I agree that', and 'god gave gift' instead of 'a gift from God'. The vocabulary used is generally sufficient to convey the basic message, but it lacks the precision and range required for a higher band score. You should focus on learning collocations and more academic synonyms to express your ideas more effectively.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the essay that occasionally impede communication. Issues include subject-verb agreement ('they starts water-plant'), incorrect verb tenses, and missing articles ('In earth', 'on that'). Sentence structures are mostly simple, and attempts at complex sentences are often marred by errors in punctuation and syntax. For example, 'some people are Business to water supply' is grammatically incorrect. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, subject-verb agreement, and the correct use of articles before attempting more complex grammatical structures.
