Student answer (Band 5.5)
In recent years it has become increasingly common to debate that water without any foreign particles is every human basic right, and thats why every household have free water suppliance. I strongly agree with this view that water should be free at every home. This essay will explain why I hold this view.
To begin with, one major reason is that water is common item that use almost in every chores and all class people cannot afford to buying it everytime. This means that without water people cannot work any single work, for every tasks somehow water is required and if water is chargable lower middle class and poor class family think before buying it and maybe sometimes they survive without it. For example, household chores such as washing clothes and dishes, cleaning, cooking food and for drinking water is required, however if there is a charge on it there is a chance that so many people sleep thrusty. Therefore water supply should be free of charge is necessary.
Another important reason is that good health is directly connected with water . In other words if water supply is not free people who cannot afford to purchase it everyday started using water directly from the lake , rivers and dirty ponds near their home which is unhygeinic to use, and as a result dirty water make them sick . For Instance in India so many small towns have not facilities of free water 24 hours and thats why sometimes they need to use water from nature which is not properly filter and it has lots of dirty particles in it.
In conclusion, I frimly agree that water is a basic human right and it should be free because it is used in every tasks from drinking to washing and it is true that it is difficult for some people to buying it everyday ,second the public health connected with water, every people have a right to dirnk clean and neat water.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by clearly stating a position in favor of free water. The main ideas—affordability and public health—are relevant and logically linked to the topic. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat repetitive and lacks depth. For instance, the argument regarding affordability is restated in the conclusion without adding new insights. While the position is consistent, the supporting examples, such as the mention of India, are a bit generalized. To reach a higher band, you should aim to explore the implications of your arguments more thoroughly, perhaps by discussing the economic feasibility or the role of government responsibility in more detail.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. There is an attempt to use cohesive devices such as 'To begin with', 'In other words', and 'In conclusion'. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and the use of linking words is occasionally repetitive or slightly unnatural. Referencing is generally clear, but the transition between the introduction and the body paragraphs could be smoother. The paragraphing is appropriate, but the internal structure of the paragraphs could benefit from more varied sentence connectors to improve the overall progression of ideas.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks the precision and variety required for a higher band. There are several instances of awkward word choices, such as 'water suppliance' instead of 'water supply', 'chargable' instead of 'chargeable', and 'thrusty' instead of 'thirsty'. Additionally, there are some spelling errors like 'frimly' and 'dirnk'. While the meaning is generally clear, the range of vocabulary is limited to basic terms. To improve, you should focus on using more precise collocations and academic vocabulary, and ensure you proofread for basic spelling and word-form errors.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('every household have', 'people... started using'), incorrect verb forms ('cannot afford to buying', 'need to use water... which is not properly filter'), and missing articles. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to be noticeable and detract from the overall quality of the writing. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for subject-verb agreement would significantly improve your score.
