Student answer (Band 5.0)

Water is the most precious gift of God without this we cannot survive this is the reason water is very important for us.It is important for rich peoples as well as it for poor peoples every body need water to survive or to full fill there needs.

Yes it is 100% true that access to clean water is a basic human right.Every person was forced to bring water supply for their home because clean water is must importsnt for childs as well as for olders. If every home have a water supply as its own encourage so it is very good, butt i think that everyone was not able to afford this because every person have its own and different social finance so some body in the society were not able to get water supply by their own pay.

Therefore every home shoould have a water supply that is provided by the government free of charge.I was fully agree with this statement because water is a basic human right and need also.A man can survive without any thing but water and air was compulsuray. In our Earth there was enough water but the percentage of water which is able to drink was only two point something the other large amount of water was not able to drink it was salty water.

In our country it was difficult to access clean water without any water supply so these are the reasons that government can provide water supply to every home free of cost. From my point of view I think that if anyone have a good social finance so they get water supply by their own pay and government can provide this facility to only needed peoples.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position, though the development of ideas is inconsistent. While you argue that water is a basic right, your conclusion contradicts your initial stance by suggesting that only those in need should receive it for free. This shift in position makes the argument less persuasive. The ideas are relevant, such as the mention of water scarcity and the role of government, but they lack depth and specific examples. To improve, ensure your main argument remains consistent throughout the essay and expand on your points with more detailed explanations or real-world evidence.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the logical flow is often disrupted by awkward phrasing and repetitive sentence structures. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'Therefore' and 'In our country', but they are sometimes applied mechanically or incorrectly. The transition between ideas is not always smooth, which occasionally makes it difficult to follow your line of reasoning. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that each paragraph has a clear, singular focus that supports your overall thesis.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and often repetitive, relying on basic terms like 'important' and 'water supply'. There are several instances of incorrect word choice and collocation, such as 'social finance' instead of 'financial situation' or 'economic status', and 'compulsuray' (spelling error). You attempt to use some topic-specific vocabulary, but the lack of precision and frequent spelling errors (e.g., 'importsnt', 'childs', 'butt') hinder the clarity of your message. Expanding your vocabulary to include more academic collocations would significantly improve your score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay relies heavily on simple sentence structures, and there are frequent errors in grammar, punctuation, and syntax. Issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'every person have'), incorrect verb tenses (e.g., 'Every person was forced'), and run-on sentences. Punctuation is often missing or misused, particularly regarding capitalization and spacing after periods. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors across basic structures prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on sentence construction and proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy is essential.
