Student answer (Band 6.0)
One of the basic human right is to provide fresh water to every individual on earth. Hence, government should install water systems in every household in order to give access to free water to everybody. I totally agree with the stance because water does not only used in the daily chores like cooking and cleaning but it is essential for sustaining life. Also, if water is provided free of cost then it can reduce the financial burden on low-income families.
First of all, water is the basic need of life. Humans are required to drink a certain amount of fresh water on daily basis. Without drinking water, one cannot survive more than 2 days. Besides, it is needed to carry out daily tasks like cooking, cleaning, washing, taking bath and so on. Therefore, making it available to every resident is necessary.
Secondly, a considerable amount of water is used by a household on daily basis. If people are charged for using water then it will impose financial burden on them. They have to spend a handsome amount of money to get clean water. As a result, other basic needs will be neglected to fulfill the requirement of water. If government make rules to provide free supply of water to every home, people wil not be worrying about the expenditure costs of buying water.
In conclusion, although supplying water to every household required a lot of efforts and money, I believe that government should take measures to install a water system in every house because water is the basic necessity of life and this action will reduce financial burden on every human.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt clearly and maintains a consistent position throughout. You have identified the core argument—that water is a basic right and should be free—and supported it with two main points: the necessity of water for survival and the economic relief it provides to low-income families. While the ideas are relevant, they could be further extended with more specific examples or a deeper exploration of the counter-argument (the economic feasibility for governments). The conclusion is brief but effectively summarizes your stance. Overall, the task is addressed well, though the development of ideas remains somewhat general.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear central theme. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'First of all,' 'Secondly,' and 'In conclusion' to guide the reader. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and the use of referencing could be more sophisticated. For instance, the transition between the necessity of water and the financial argument is functional but lacks a smooth, cohesive link. Paragraphing is used appropriately, and the progression of ideas is easy to follow, which meets the requirements for a solid mid-range score.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'financial burden,' 'sustaining life,' and 'daily chores.' However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'provide fresh water to every individual' (instead of 'ensure access to') and 'handsome amount of money' (which is an informal idiom not ideal for an academic essay). You attempt to use some less common vocabulary, but the overall range is somewhat limited. To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise academic collocations and avoiding informal phrasing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is always clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with articles ('the basic human right' should be 'a basic human right') and subject-verb agreement ('water does not only used' should be 'water is not only used'). You also have issues with pluralization and verb tense consistency, such as 'government make rules' instead of 'governments make rules.' These errors are noticeable but do not impede communication. Increasing the variety of complex structures while improving accuracy in basic grammar will help improve this score.
