Student answer (Band 6.0)
Water is a very essential natural resource for human life. Cleaning water and saving freshwater are basic human rights. Some people think that every household has a free supply of water. I completely disagree with the above statement. This essay will discuss my opinion on the above statement.
First of all, we all know around 1% of freshwater is available on earth. It is very important for everyone's life. Approximately 90% of work we are doing is with water. Nowadays, people waste lots of freshwater, and they do not care about natural resources. for instance, In houses, individuals open taps and don't care about water and used water without any limits. So the government put some monthly fees on households for using water accordingly. because we need this limited resource for future generations.
Moreover, industrialization disposes of the wastewater in freshwater rivers, lakes, and so on.
This is not good for our health as well as aquatic animal life. No doubt, humans make water purification systems to clean the wastewater, but they do not have the right to pollute the drinkable water. The administration imposes high-amount fines if any industry pollutes the water.
To conclude, water is a very important source for our lives. This is a very basic duty to clean the dirty water and try to save the clean water so that we live our lives very smoothly. The admin should make some rules and regulations for usage of water and impose some monthly fees. which can be used for cleaning the wastewater.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position against free water supply. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention the scarcity of freshwater and the need for government regulation, the arguments could be more deeply explored. For instance, you touch upon industrial pollution, which is a relevant point, but it is not directly linked to the core argument of whether water should be free or paid for. To reach a higher band, ensure that every paragraph directly supports your central thesis with more detailed explanations or specific examples of how charging for water encourages conservation.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas from the introduction to the conclusion. You use some cohesive devices like 'First of all', 'Moreover', and 'To conclude' to signal the structure. However, the flow between sentences is occasionally mechanical, and some transitions are abrupt. For example, the jump from individual water waste to industrial pollution in the second paragraph lacks a smooth connecting thought. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each sentence flows naturally into the next would enhance the overall coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to express your ideas clearly. You use some topic-specific terms like 'natural resources', 'industrialization', and 'water purification systems'. However, the range is somewhat limited, and there is some repetition of basic words like 'water' and 'clean'. To improve, try to incorporate more precise synonyms and collocations. For example, instead of saying 'put some monthly fees', you could use 'implement a tiered pricing structure' or 'levy usage charges'. Expanding your vocabulary to include more academic and sophisticated terms will help you achieve a higher score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While your meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with articles ('the' vs 'a'), subject-verb agreement, and sentence fragments. For instance, 'because we need this limited resource' is a dependent clause used as a full sentence. Additionally, there are punctuation issues, such as starting sentences with lowercase letters after a period. To improve, focus on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy and practice combining simple sentences into more complex, error-free structures to demonstrate better control over your writing.
