Student answer (Band 5.5)
Clean water is the need of everyone as the government should have to look for this issue. Providing clean water to residents is a fundamental human right, However, water supply should be given to all houses without any charges. I firmly agree with this because clean water should be of free of charges for the residents that they will have lower risk of health issues.
To begin with, the authority is responsible for the residents requirements. The tap water use by people in the houses which are available everywhere in areas such as in washrooms, kitchen is not clean because it comes from the water tank and outside the house pipes, therefore, they include dirt and impurities which will affect the individual health. It is argued that, majority of people in the hospitals who has diarrhea are cause by drinking unclean water. That is why, water supply should be available in all houses to lower the risk of such diseases.
Furthermore ,having clean water supply is the right of everyone, many people has financial issues and they cannot afford the charges for the supply of water every month so they drink impure water that will lead to many problems. So to avoid such problems, government should take actions of this problem and supply free water sources which will benefit the society.
To conclude, having a free water supply will help the residents about health and it will also reduce the financial tension among people. I strongly agree with this statement because the society needs a healthy lifestyle and to stay healthy, they should drink clean water to avoid any issues.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. However, the development of ideas is somewhat repetitive. While you mention health risks and financial burdens, the arguments lack depth and specific examples. For instance, you mention that tap water is unclean, but this is a generalization that could be better supported by discussing infrastructure or water treatment policies. To improve, focus on extending your arguments with more nuanced reasoning rather than restating the same points in different ways. The conclusion is consistent with the introduction, but the overall development remains at a basic level.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'To begin with', 'Furthermore', and 'To conclude' to signal the structure. However, the use of these devices is somewhat mechanical, and there are instances where the flow is slightly disjointed, such as the transition between the health argument and the financial argument. Additionally, some sentences are repetitive, which hinders the overall flow. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each sentence builds logically upon the previous one would enhance the coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. You rely on simple, repetitive phrasing such as 'clean water', 'free of charges', and 'health issues'. There are also some awkward collocations, such as 'take actions of this problem' instead of 'take action on this issue'. To achieve a higher score, you should aim to incorporate more sophisticated vocabulary and collocations related to the topic, such as 'public utility', 'socio-economic barriers', 'potable water', or 'infrastructure maintenance'. Expanding your lexical range will help you express your ideas with greater clarity and impact.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede readability. Examples include 'the government should have to look for this issue', 'the tap water use by people', and 'many people has financial issues'. Subject-verb agreement and preposition usage are consistent areas of weakness. While the meaning is generally clear, the frequency of these errors prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy, particularly verb forms and pluralization, will significantly improve your writing.
