Student answer (Band 5.0)

Each and every household should have a access to clean water which need to be free of cost since water is a fundamental human necessity. In my opinion i agree that clean water is essential and universally accessible despite the potential expense of such proposal.

On one hand providing water in all the household can cause financial loss to the government in developing country. Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response is significantly under the required word count of 250 words, which severely limits your ability to develop your ideas. While you state a clear position, the essay is incomplete and stops abruptly in the second paragraph. The arguments regarding financial loss and health benefits are relevant but remain underdeveloped due to the lack of supporting evidence and the unfinished nature of the text. To improve, you must ensure you provide a full introduction, two well-developed body paragraphs with specific examples, and a conclusion to fully address all parts of the prompt.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay shows some attempt at logical organization by using transition signals like 'On one hand' and 'On the other hand'. However, the abrupt ending makes it impossible to judge the overall progression of the argument. Paragraphing is present, but the lack of a conclusion and the incomplete second paragraph disrupt the flow. To improve, focus on completing your thoughts within each paragraph and using a wider range of cohesive devices to link your sentences more naturally.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

Your vocabulary is generally adequate for basic communication, using terms like 'fundamental human necessity' and 'universally accessible'. However, there are some inaccuracies, such as 'this kind of activities has force the emergency restriction' (should be 'these kinds of activities have forced emergency restrictions'). The range is limited by the brevity of the text. To reach a higher band, try to incorporate more precise academic collocations and ensure subject-verb agreement when using complex vocabulary.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

There are several grammatical errors that affect the clarity of your writing. For example, 'a access' should be 'access', and 'in developing country' should be 'in developing countries'. You also have issues with verb tense and pluralization, such as 'every citizen would not be considerate about how much litre of water they are using'. While you attempt some complex structures, the frequency of errors is high relative to the short length of the text. Focus on basic subject-verb agreement and article usage to improve your accuracy.
