Student answer (Band 5.5)
Water is the basic fundamental unit of life. Drinking clean water is very crucial for human health. Water contains toxins and heavy metals, like lead, mercury, iron, copper and chromium which are very dangerous for human health. That is the reason sea water is not good for drinking purpose. Therefore, Water which is clean from all such heavy metals and other pollutants is good for health and nutrition. In order to get clean water a proper clean water supply is required.
Clean water is essential and its approach must be accessible for all humans. Every home should have a water supply which is clean and drinkable. But in many areas under earth water is non-hygienic and can effect physical health moreover, it can cause a lot of skin problems for example, eczema, acne, fungal and bacterial infections.
However, in many areas under earth water is clean, to overcome this issue people should install water pumps in their homes to get under earth water which is safe to drink. In order to install these water pumps some money is required and after that they should run on electricity.
Therefore, I am not agree with this that there should be a free water supply to every home. In my opinion water filtration plants are more suitable option in order to overcome this issue. Government should take steps and provide funds for clean water filtration plants. These filtration plants provide clean water supply to such areas where water beneath earth is not good for drinking. This should be suitable for both people and for the government sectors.
In conclusion, it is clear that clean water plays a vital role in humans life. To get this water a water filtration plant should be constructed in different areas of the cities so that it should be in range of every person.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position against the idea of free water supply for every home. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention the health risks of contaminated water and suggest filtration plants as an alternative, the argument lacks depth regarding the economic or social implications of 'free' water. Some points, such as the discussion on installing individual water pumps, are slightly tangential to the core debate about government-provided free supply. To improve, ensure that each paragraph directly supports your central thesis with more nuanced reasoning and specific examples.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. You use some cohesive devices like 'Therefore', 'However', and 'In conclusion' to link ideas. However, the flow between sentences is occasionally mechanical, and some transitions feel abrupt. For instance, the jump from discussing skin problems to suggesting individual water pumps lacks a smooth logical bridge. Additionally, the use of referencing is sometimes repetitive, such as the frequent use of 'water' and 'filtration plants'. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring smoother transitions between sentences would enhance the overall coherence.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to express your ideas clearly. You use some topic-specific terms like 'pollutants', 'filtration plants', and 'non-hygienic'. However, there is a reliance on basic vocabulary and some word-choice errors, such as 'I am not agree' (should be 'I do not agree') and 'approach must be accessible' (which is slightly unnatural). To reach a higher band, try to incorporate more precise collocations and less common academic vocabulary to demonstrate a wider range of expression.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as 'under earth water' (should be 'groundwater'), 'can effect physical health' (should be 'affect'), and 'in humans life' (should be 'human life'). Punctuation is generally functional, but there are minor errors in sentence construction. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct usage of articles and prepositions. Increasing the variety of complex sentence structures while ensuring they remain error-free will help you achieve a higher score.
