Student answer (Band 5.5)
It is oftenly claimed that every individual should get clean water as it is their human right. therefore, each accomodation should get water supply without charging any money. I totally disagree with the statement and I will mention the reason for my opinion in the upcoming paragraphs.
Initially, water is a basic need of all the living beings nevertheless supplying it free of cost will make it less valuable for the public, as it is very clear that people do not value the things which are free of cost. Already only 72% water is left on earth out of which only 2% of water is used for domestic purposes or for drinking by the individuals and rest of the water is salty that is present in the oceans which cannot be used directly and without purifying. So, as the amount of water is already limited everyone should value it and should use it carefully.
In conclusion, as water is a basic necessity of every living being, providing it free of cost can serve the public today but will create a trouble for upcoming generations.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, reaching only 184 words. This significantly impacts the development of ideas, as the arguments are presented in a very truncated manner. While you clearly state your position, the supporting arguments are underdeveloped and lack the necessary depth and examples required for a Task 2 essay. The conclusion is also abrupt and does not adequately summarize the main points. To improve, you must expand on your reasoning with specific examples and ensure you meet the length requirement to allow for a full exploration of the topic.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which is a positive start. However, the progression of ideas is limited by the brevity of the text. You use some cohesive devices like 'nevertheless' and 'in conclusion', but the transitions between sentences feel somewhat mechanical. The referencing is generally clear, but the lack of sufficient content makes the overall structure feel incomplete. To achieve a higher band, focus on using a wider range of cohesive devices to link your ideas more fluidly and ensure that each paragraph contains a well-developed central idea supported by evidence.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the range and precision expected at higher levels. There are some errors in word choice and spelling, such as 'oftenly' (often) and 'accomodation' (accommodation). You rely on basic vocabulary, such as 'things' and 'trouble', which limits your ability to express complex ideas. To improve, try to incorporate more topic-specific vocabulary related to environmental policy or economics and focus on accurate spelling and collocation. Using more precise synonyms will help you convey your arguments more effectively.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally hinder the flow. For example, '72% water is left' should be '72% of the water' and 'without charging any money' could be phrased more naturally. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the capitalization of 'therefore' at the start of a sentence. While the meaning is generally clear, the frequency of these errors prevents a higher score. Focus on subject-verb agreement, article usage, and consistent punctuation to improve your grammatical accuracy.
