Student answer (Band 5.5)
Basically, there are many cities who provides water to the civilization but the problem is that , they charged money for supplying water moreover , the people have to pay a high amount for there water bills
First, I'll share my positive thoughts about human right that is access to clean water. Somehow, people get water at there houses for free and the water is almost clean and good to drink. The citizens completed their needs of water and don't have any need to go outside to get water moreover, it is a good thing.
Unfortunately, this facility is only available for some people in many cities. Numerous people are also located who is always looking forward for water and they just hoped to get water from somewhere, that's the worst thing. Furthermore, in many countries water is very expensive and vital but, also available in lesser amount which can't even complete human need. People have to wait for water trucks from which they can get water and do there household works . it seems very annoying and challenging for poor people. there government even do nothing about this situation.
In my perspective, government and there founders have to do something for there citizens and they have to take a stand to go through this typical situation. They have to pay attention and give their all efforts and provide water to the people who are living in their country or anywhere. Because water is a basic human need which should be completed at any cost, so that any country or society will be succeed by doing these kind of things for themselves.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by discussing the provision of free water. However, the position is not fully developed. While you argue that governments should provide water, the essay lacks a nuanced exploration of the economic implications or the feasibility of 'free' water, which is necessary for a higher band. The ideas are somewhat repetitive, focusing on the hardship of poor people without exploring the broader societal or economic arguments. To improve, ensure you provide a more balanced analysis or more specific, well-supported arguments that directly address the 'free of charge' aspect of the prompt.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organised into paragraphs, but the progression of ideas is often disjointed. You use some cohesive devices like 'furthermore' and 'in my perspective', but they are sometimes used incorrectly or in a repetitive manner. The referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the phrase 'there government even do nothing', where the connection to the previous sentence is weak. Paragraphing is present, but the internal flow within paragraphs needs to be smoother to guide the reader more effectively through your argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is generally limited and repetitive. You rely on basic terms like 'good thing', 'bad thing', and 'do something'. There are also frequent errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'civilization' instead of 'populace' or 'citizens', and 'completed their needs' instead of 'met their needs'. To reach a higher band, you should aim to use more precise academic vocabulary and collocations related to the topic of public services and human rights.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text that occasionally impede clarity. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('cities who provides', 'government and there founders have to do'), incorrect use of homophones ('there' instead of 'their'), and punctuation errors, such as unnecessary commas and missing capital letters at the start of sentences. The sentence structures are mostly simple or compound; there is a lack of complex sentence variety. Improving your control over basic grammar and proofreading for common errors like 'there/their' will significantly improve your score.
