Student answer (Band 6.5)
Infrastructures play a fundamental role in shaping modern civilization. It is often argued that access to pure water is crucial. Therefore, each domestic unit should have a free and clean water supply system. I completely agree with this viewpoint and this essay explains the reasons behind my agreement, with relevant examples.
The primary justification for my position is that every citizen is not enough wealthy to pay for water as they have to deal with numerous issues. This is a frequent and detrimental issue among the general populance. Consequently, it is the responsibility of authorities to assist the public to have purified water which is provided free. For example, a famous magazine has recently stated the rate for poverty has boosted by % in the last year and it is challenging to pay water bills. As a solution, the state is going to offer public water system for every individuals.
Another significant factor is that each citizen is subjected to direct or indirect taxes. Since the government is being earning income through taxes, their people have rights to have free water supply. Owing to this, expenditures on medical treatments for the people who were caught by diseases due to impurities will be significantly decreased. For instance, a developed country is providing free clean water for everyone, because it ameliorates the human well-being.
In conclusion, although supplying mineral water costs considerably, it will be beneficial in long-term development. Moreover, the quality of life is greater than expenses to maintain a prosperous life.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The essay addresses the prompt clearly and maintains a consistent position throughout. The arguments regarding financial accessibility and taxation are relevant. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the example of a 'famous magazine' is vague and lacks specific detail, which weakens the persuasive impact. The explanation of the link between taxes and free water is logical but could be expanded to better explore the complexities of the issue. To reach a higher band, ensure that examples are more concrete and that the reasoning is fully explored rather than stated in general terms.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate distinct ideas. Cohesive devices such as 'The primary justification', 'Consequently', and 'In conclusion' are used to guide the reader. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical, and the flow between sentences could be smoother. The referencing is generally clear, though some phrasing, such as 'Owing to this', is slightly awkward in context. Overall, the progression of ideas is easy to follow, meeting the requirements for a solid band 6.5 or 7.0.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express their opinion clearly. There are attempts to use less common vocabulary, such as 'ameliorates', 'detrimental', and 'populance' (though 'populance' is a misspelling of 'populace'). Some word choices are slightly unnatural, such as 'not enough wealthy' instead of 'not wealthy enough' or 'the government is being earning income'. While the range is sufficient to convey meaning, the errors in word formation and collocation prevent a higher score. Focusing on accurate word forms and natural collocations will improve this score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, such as 'every citizen is not enough wealthy', 'every individuals', and 'people who were caught by diseases'. These errors are frequent enough to be noticeable but do not generally impede communication. The use of punctuation is mostly correct, but the sentence structure occasionally feels repetitive. To improve, the student should focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles and pluralization. Increasing the variety of complex structures while ensuring accuracy will help move toward a higher band.
