Student answer (Band 5.5)
Many people believe that drinking water is essential for all and there should be no charge to access it.It is a basic need no human beings and it should be free.At this pint , I strongly agree that clean water supply should be provided by government without any expenses as a necessity of life.
Government is responsible for their residents so it is responsibility of a specific state that pure water shall deliver to each and every house. They collect taxes form people but don`t try to think about this problem because it is not a comfort its is basic human need to live a healthy life .For instance , in north Pakistan thousands of people die mostly children due to unhealthy water . They can`t afford mineral water on daily basis consumption and that is the reason why, I support water supply is the government`s responsibility.
There is another reason drinkable water should be free because it is a natural resource and no one owns this as property. It should be equal for all humans and have easy to access such as home supply without any payment charge. Clean water is not only good for individuals but also for government like if nation of a country will be healthy then it will benefits directly or indirectly to the state.
In conclusion , I support that pure drinkable water is a necessity of life and should be free of cost even it is a responsibility of government to manage and control the payment with taxes.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by clearly stating a position in favor of free water supply. The ideas are relevant, such as the government's responsibility and the nature of water as a public resource. However, the development is somewhat limited. The example regarding North Pakistan is a good start but lacks depth. To reach a higher band, you should expand on the economic or social implications of your argument rather than just stating them. The position is consistent throughout, but the overall development of ideas remains somewhat superficial, which is characteristic of a Band 6 performance.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. There is a progression of ideas from the introduction to the conclusion. However, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'At this pint' (a typo for point) and 'For instance, in north Pakistan'. Some transitions between sentences feel abrupt. While the paragraphing is appropriate, the internal cohesion within paragraphs could be improved by using a wider variety of linking words to connect ideas more fluidly rather than relying on simple sentence structures.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary used is adequate for the task but lacks sophistication. You use basic terms like 'basic need', 'healthy life', and 'natural resource'. There are some inaccuracies in word choice, such as 'payment charge' (redundant) and 'deliver to each and every house' (should be 'delivered'). While the meaning is always clear, the range of vocabulary is limited, and there is little attempt to use less common or more precise academic collocations. To improve, focus on learning topic-specific vocabulary related to public policy and economics.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation. Examples include 'It is a basic need no human beings' (missing preposition), 'Government is responsible' (missing article 'The'), and 'it is not a comfort its is basic human need' (punctuation and grammar errors). While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding your argument, they are noticeable and occur throughout the text. You need to focus on subject-verb agreement, article usage, and consistent punctuation to improve your accuracy.
