Student answer (Band 5.5)

This discussion based on ,clean water access is a primary human right ,so its compulsory to give facility of clean water supply to every home without any cost.in my perspectives,no doubt water is our basic needs it should be provided all the way to our home places but there should be a bill to those inhabitants who can afford so that this facility provided well to all over the country.

water is essential need of each person who resides in this planet ,we have a need to drink clean water for our health.if government bodies do not pay attention to this scenario then due to consumption of polluted water a lot of diseases spread in a community.this pollution actually raised the economical issues ,like expenses of health department can rise to its peak that was actually the draw back of not having clean water like in Pakistan due to populated water many children are admitted to hospitals and combat with ailments like motion sickness ,intestinal and stomach disturbances.

on the other hand, clean water also a essential need of a person on daily basis,if individuals not provided with this it gives a lot of social insecurities to them.furthermore, public can not develop trust to their authorities .for instance, many protests were arranged in INDIA just due to not provided by clean water.

in my opinion, government should provided clean water to each inhabitant of its country .that may be possible with a lot of efforts like to implant filters and processor at high level industries.this can be a huge burden to economy of a country so,there should be some charges on that for specific community that afford it. it should not provide just free of cost ,so as this facility progressed in long duration.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

You have addressed the prompt by taking a clear position: you agree that water is a right but argue that it should not be free for everyone. However, the development of your ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention health issues and social trust, the arguments are brief and lack depth. For instance, the link between water costs and economic sustainability could be expanded with more specific reasoning. To reach a higher band, ensure that each paragraph fully explores the implications of your argument rather than just stating them. You have successfully covered all parts of the task, but the supporting evidence is somewhat generic.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your argument. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or missing. You rely on simple transitions like 'on the other hand' and 'furthermore,' but the flow between sentences within paragraphs is sometimes disjointed. For example, the transition between the health impacts of polluted water and the economic consequences is abrupt. Additionally, the punctuation is inconsistent, with missing spaces after commas and periods, which disrupts the logical flow. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring consistent paragraph structure will significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

Your vocabulary is generally adequate to convey your meaning, but it lacks the precision and range expected at higher levels. You use some repetitive phrasing, such as 'essential need' and 'clean water,' and there are instances of awkward word choices, such as 'implant filters' (instead of 'install') and 'combat with ailments' (instead of 'suffer from'). There are also several spelling and word-formation errors, such as 'economical issues' (should be 'economic') and 'populated water' (should be 'polluted'). To improve, focus on learning collocations and using a wider variety of synonyms to express your ideas more naturally.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but the accuracy is inconsistent. There are frequent errors in subject-verb agreement, such as 'government should provided' (should be 'provide') and 'if individuals not provided' (should be 'are not provided'). Punctuation is a major issue throughout the text, with many missing spaces after punctuation marks and incorrect capitalization. These errors are noticeable and occasionally force the reader to pause, though they do not completely impede communication. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction and proofreading for common grammatical slips like verb tense and article usage.
