Student answer (Band 5.5)
Every person has a right to drink fresh water because drinking of fresh water saves our lives. So that, A person has right to drink fresh and clean water in their homes, offices and other places. They should have water supply without bills. So that, an individuals can drink fresh water and saves their life from different diseases.
Firstly, I am really agree to this statement because drinking of fresh water has right for a person. Furthermore, there are many diseases that spread with unclean water such as hepatitis, stomach issue and liver problems. However, In many countries could not provide fresh water for their people. Additionally, people face many problems by unclean water so that, Policy makers should prove fresh water with free of cost because some people going poverty and can not afford water supply bills.
Besides, I am agree to this point people have a right to drink fresh water in their cities or residence. However, some people don't have drunk fresh water because, they are financially not strong could not paid their bills of water supply and face many problems.
For instance, In UGANDA people are facing many financial problems and can not get any kind of expansive things. However, In 1998, high authorities of UGANDA decide to take step for fresh water because people are facing many health problems due to unclean water. They were suffering many diseases such as breathing, hepatitis and lung diseases. That was a big challenge for UGANDA government so that, they built a water supply filters for free of cost that helps him very much.
Thus, I have successfully defended my perspective with regards to every person has a right to drink fresh water without cost. I have given reasonable arguments with examples to support my side of the picture.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position in favor of free water supply. However, the development of ideas is limited. While you mention health benefits and financial burdens, the arguments are repetitive and lack depth. For instance, the example of Uganda is relevant but is described in a simplistic manner that does not fully explore the economic or logistical implications of providing free water. To improve, you should focus on expanding your points with more sophisticated reasoning, such as discussing the role of government taxation or the potential for water wastage if it is provided entirely free of charge.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical and sometimes inaccurate. For example, the phrase 'So that' is used repeatedly and incorrectly at the beginning of sentences. Transitions like 'Firstly', 'Furthermore', and 'Besides' are present but do not always create a smooth logical flow between ideas. The referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the final sentence of the Uganda paragraph where 'helps him' is used, despite the context referring to the population. Improving the variety and accuracy of linking words would significantly enhance the flow.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. You rely on basic terms like 'fresh water', 'problems', and 'big challenge'. There are also issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'drinking of fresh water has right for a person' and 'expansive things' (likely meaning 'expensive'). To reach a higher band, you should aim to use more academic collocations and precise terminology related to public policy and economics, rather than repeating simple phrases throughout the text.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'an individuals can drink'), incorrect verb forms (e.g., 'could not paid their bills'), and awkward phrasing (e.g., 'some people going poverty'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors in basic sentence construction prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on proofreading for tense consistency and article usage would be beneficial.
