Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
You have clearly stated your position and provided relevant arguments to support your view, such as the economic benefits for low-income families and the potential for public health improvements. However, the development of your ideas is somewhat superficial. For instance, while you mention that free water would create jobs, the explanation regarding 'new generation' individuals using their 'brain' to optimize systems is vague and lacks a concrete link to the reality of infrastructure management. To reach a higher band, you should provide more detailed examples or logical chains of reasoning that explain how the government would fund such a massive undertaking, as this is the primary counter-argument to your position.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into paragraphs, and there is a general progression of ideas. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or missing. For example, the transition between the second and third paragraphs is abrupt. You rely heavily on simple sentence structures, which makes the flow feel somewhat disjointed. Additionally, some referencing is unclear, such as the phrase 'that will make a thousands jobs', where the antecedent for 'that' is slightly ambiguous. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and phrases to connect your sentences and paragraphs more fluidly, ensuring that the relationship between your ideas is explicitly stated.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to express your main points clearly. You use some topic-specific terms like 'waterborne diseases', 'infrastructure', and 'formal workforce'. However, there are instances of awkward phrasing and word choice, such as 'basic amenities to human being' (should be 'human beings') and 'needful aspects' (which is not standard collocation). The range of vocabulary is somewhat limited, and you tend to repeat basic words. To achieve a higher score, try to incorporate more precise academic collocations and avoid informal phrasing, ensuring that your word choices are consistently natural and accurate.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but the accuracy is inconsistent. There are several grammatical errors, such as 'clean water can never be luxury' (missing article 'a'), 'helps to the Government' (unnecessary preposition), and 'which will results to' (subject-verb agreement and preposition error). While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding your message, they occur frequently enough to impact the overall fluency. To improve, focus on mastering subject-verb agreement, the correct use of articles, and ensuring that complex sentences are constructed without errors in tense or preposition usage.
