Student answer (Band 5.5)
Water is the basic right for every living organism. It is the most important element of human body, about 70% of our body made up of it. It should be provided easily to all human beings. But there I partially agree with the statement that water is provided to every house free of cost.
Usually, people do not value those things which are free as compared to paid one. And water is the most precious liquid of our Earth. It should be used wisely. If it is available to everyone without any charges its value declines. If water is supply free of cost to each and everyone, people do not care much about it. They do not pay attention for its conservation and waste a lot of water. Because they do not have to pay anything for it. And another reason that I want to write is it would be economically burden for developing countries like Pakistan, India, Bangladesh etc. Government need plenty of investment for this purpose.
On the basis of above conversation I do not say that water should not be provided to public. But it requires some rules and regulation. Administration should provide some water free of cost and above certain level charges. It should be free for poor citizens and must take money from rich people.
In last I summarized that water is life. Without water life is not possible. It should be easily available for everyone but along with some principles that are made for its storage and avoid its wastage. And our local people should pay attention to follow these measurements to conserve water.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by taking a nuanced position, arguing for a tiered system rather than universal free water. The ideas are relevant, particularly the economic burden on developing nations and the concern regarding water wastage. However, the development is somewhat limited; the argument could be strengthened by providing more concrete examples or deeper analysis of how a 'tiered' system would function in practice. While the position is clear, the essay feels slightly repetitive in its reasoning. To reach a higher band, ensure that each supporting point is fully explored with specific evidence or logical consequences.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. There is a progression of ideas from the importance of water to the economic implications and finally to a proposed solution. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and occasionally repetitive (e.g., starting multiple sentences with 'If'). Referencing is generally clear, but the transition between the introduction and the body paragraphs could be smoother. The concluding paragraph effectively summarizes the main points, though the phrasing 'In last I summarized' is slightly awkward and could be improved for better flow.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing the student to express their ideas clearly. There are some attempts at more sophisticated vocabulary, such as 'economically burden' (though this is grammatically incorrect) and 'conservation'. However, there are instances of imprecise word choice and collocation errors, such as 'the most important element of human body' (missing 'the') and 'take money from rich people' (which is informal). To improve, the student should focus on using more precise academic collocations and ensuring that word forms are used correctly in context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as 'about 70% of our body made up of it' (missing 'is'), 'there I partially agree' (unnecessary 'there'), and 'Government need' (subject-verb agreement). Punctuation is generally functional, but there are some awkward phrasings that hinder the overall fluency. The student demonstrates an ability to construct complex sentences, but these are often marred by minor errors. Increasing the accuracy of basic grammatical structures will help improve the overall score.
