Student answer (Band 5.0)

Yes I am agree with your openion. Becuse every person pay there text to government. So government should responsible to supply free and clean water to every home of the town or city. In my city many people are unable to earn a good money to manage their overall expensies of life. Even they cannot pay bill for water supply company. Many people use free filter plants to get water for their children. Sometimes many free filter plants are not good in condition so people get water from here becuse of lack of money either their childern stay safe or not. So from my openion water should be supply free of cost those areas where people are not living in their good life style and are not able to earn a good money and are suffering from many life issues. The main areas where government should supply water free that's like villages, those areas where no special facilities are available even public transport too. And government should collect the data of all poor areas where they can supply free water without any text. But those areas where people are living good life and if they need to get water they should pay for it including their tex.

So in conclusion supply free water without any tex to those areas where people can't afford their expenses and get money with tex from those people who is living their good life style becuse they haven't right to get free water. If the economy is good for a country then it may be provide free water to elite class people as well as poor class people

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt by taking a position, but the development is inconsistent. While you argue that water should be free for the poor, the argument lacks a clear, structured approach to the broader implications of the prompt. You focus heavily on personal observations about filter plants and local economic conditions, which limits the depth of your analysis. To improve, you should explore the societal or economic arguments for and against universal free water more broadly, rather than focusing solely on local anecdotes. The position is clear, but the supporting ideas are somewhat repetitive and lack the necessary academic depth to reach a higher band.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is divided into paragraphs, but the logical progression is weak. Transitions are often missing or repetitive, such as the frequent use of 'So' to start sentences. The connection between ideas is sometimes unclear, particularly in the transition from the discussion of filter plants to the suggestion of government data collection. The use of cohesive devices is limited and often mechanical. To improve, you should use a wider variety of linking words (e.g., 'furthermore', 'consequently', 'in contrast') to connect your ideas more fluidly and ensure that each paragraph has a clear, singular focus that contributes to the overall argument.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is basic and repetitive, which limits your ability to express complex ideas. There are frequent errors in word choice and spelling, such as 'text' instead of 'tax', 'expensies' instead of 'expenses', and 'openion' instead of 'opinion'. You rely on simple phrasing like 'good money' and 'good life style', which are not appropriate for an academic essay. To improve, you need to expand your range of vocabulary to include more precise, topic-specific terms related to economics, public policy, and human rights, and pay closer attention to correct spelling and collocations.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a high frequency of grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'government should responsible'), incorrect verb forms (e.g., 'water should be supply'), and sentence fragments. The range of structures is limited, consisting mostly of simple sentences. There is a lack of complex sentence structures, which are necessary for higher band scores. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, specifically the use of auxiliary verbs and correct tense usage. Additionally, try to incorporate more complex sentence forms, such as conditional sentences or relative clauses, while ensuring they are grammatically accurate.
