Student answer (Band 5.5)

Nowadays, water is an essential need in human life. Usage of clean water is the basic right of every individual. That's why, every house must have a water supply which is offered without any fees. I strongly agree with this statement due to several reasons.

Firstly, clean water is a crucial need to human life. Reach to clean and safe water offers numerous advantages to human. By this i mean that clean water may prevent an individuals from various waterbone diseases such as cholera , typhoid and even food poisioning. For instance, in some areas in africa people don't have easy reach to clean water and then they suffer from many diseases. Therfore, easily access to clean water plays a crucial role in ecosystem.

Secondly, every house in society must offered free water supply by the government. By this i tend to eleborate that if every house will be provided free water supply then it will spread good impacts in society. For instance, in some areas people have to wait for a long time to get clean water for drink. It will causes many obstacles in society and even among people.

In contrast, some people consider that government should not have to offer water supply and easily access to human to clean water. They argue due to several reasons. The valid factor is the wastage of clean water. Moreover, they belive that most of the people may misuse of clean water that causes shortage of water in environment. Despite, all of these things their issues are not sufficient to allow the government to ristrict the easily access to clean water.

To recapitulate, government must have to offer free water supply as well it should offer easily reach to clean water to people. The government should ristrict strict laws on the misuse of water otherwise, the society will lead to harmfull consequences.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses all parts of the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. You have provided relevant reasons for your agreement, such as health benefits and social equity. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For example, the argument regarding the government providing free water is mentioned but not fully explored in terms of economic feasibility or implementation. The counter-argument is acknowledged, but the rebuttal is brief. To reach a higher band, ensure that each main point is supported by more detailed explanation or specific, well-integrated examples rather than general statements.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear central topic. You use basic cohesive devices like 'Firstly', 'Secondly', and 'In contrast' to signal transitions. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical, and there are instances where the flow between sentences is slightly disjointed, such as the transition between the health benefits and the ecosystem comment. Referencing is occasionally unclear, and some sentences lack smooth connectivity. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that ideas flow more naturally from one to the next would enhance the coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'crucial', 'ecosystem', and 'recapitulate'. However, there are several instances of inaccurate word choice and collocation, such as 'reach to clean water' (instead of 'access to'), 'waterbone' (spelling error: 'waterborne'), and 'ristrict' (spelling error: 'restrict'). Some phrasing is repetitive, particularly the use of 'clean water' and 'free water supply'. To improve, focus on using more precise collocations and ensure accurate spelling of academic vocabulary. Expanding your range of synonyms will help avoid repetitive phrasing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the reader. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('It will causes'), incorrect article usage, and preposition errors ('reach to clean water'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with spacing around commas and periods. While you attempt complex structures, they are often faulty. Focusing on basic grammatical accuracy and proofreading for common errors like verb forms and articles will significantly improve your score.
