Student answer (Band 6.0)

Drinkable water is necessary for every individual to live a healthy life as well as it is also primary right of every human being, which can not be compromised, . Some people suggests that the government should ensure free of cost water supply to every house in the country. I completely agree with this argument and this essay will provide solid proofs of its importance.

First of all, 77% of human body consists of water and research reveals that no one can live without water more than three days, beacause water takes out all the toxic chemicals and salts from the body via pea by dissolving them in it and is also indispensable for normal functioning of numerous body organs, for instance, human kidneys would fail if a person does not drink enough amount of water on daily basis because salts will not filter out and remained stuck inside kidneys. For example, in my own country pakistan, many individuals die of thurst in desert areas, where they do not get water supply. The basic requirement of pure water for living a healthy life is proved by these above mentioned points.

Therefore, facilitating all citizens with a water supply without charging a single panny will enable every one to drink filtered clean water, which is their basic right. Undeniably, it is true that water supply connection will cost the Government too much and also wastage of water will increase dramatically beacuse people will take it forgranted but to fight with these problems we can not deprive someone of their basic right of having clean water, which is indispensable even to stay live.

To conclude, Drinkable and filtered water is basic right of every human being and people in many areas of multiple cities are not getting this right. These rights can only be ensured by providing everyone their own water supply, completely free of cost and i believe this is the only viable solution to this problem.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses the prompt clearly, maintaining a consistent position throughout. You have provided relevant arguments, such as the physiological necessity of water and the ethical obligation of governments. However, the development of ideas is somewhat uneven. The second paragraph focuses heavily on the biological importance of water rather than the economic or logistical implications of providing it for free. While you acknowledge counterarguments in the third paragraph, the discussion of the government's financial burden and potential water wastage is brief. To reach a higher band, ensure that your supporting points are more balanced and directly address the complexities of the 'free of charge' aspect of the prompt.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is logically organized into clear paragraphs, each with a distinct focus. You use cohesive devices such as 'First of all,' 'Therefore,' and 'To conclude' to guide the reader. However, some transitions are mechanical, and the flow between sentences is occasionally interrupted by awkward phrasing or punctuation errors, such as the comma splice in the opening sentence. Referencing is generally clear, but the connection between the biological need for water and the policy of free supply could be more smoothly integrated. Overall, the progression of ideas is coherent, but the use of cohesive devices could be more sophisticated and varied.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'indispensable,' 'viable,' and 'facilitating.' However, there are several instances of imprecise word choice and informal language that limit your score. For example, 'via pea' is inappropriate for an academic essay, and 'panny' is a misspelling of 'penny.' Additionally, phrases like 'take it forgranted' and 'stay live' are slightly unnatural. To improve, focus on using more precise academic collocations and ensure that your vocabulary remains formal throughout the response. Proofreading for spelling errors is also essential.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you attempt complex sentences, they are frequently marred by grammatical errors, such as 'Some people suggests' (subject-verb agreement) and 'salts will not filter out and remained stuck' (tense inconsistency). Punctuation is also an issue, with unnecessary commas and run-on sentences. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. To improve, focus on mastering subject-verb agreement, consistent verb tenses, and more accurate use of punctuation to separate independent clauses.
