Student answer (Band 5.5)
Clean sanitation is an individual right subsequently every home should have access to safe and clean water. I am aligned with the view that proper and free of cost water supply leads to healthier life.
Our bodies are made up of 90% of water we use water for daily living it is the basic necessity every house should have access to its proper facilities. There are advocates that there must be a specific charge on water supply so that people do not waste it and use it when they truly need. Water cleaning plants are require for its proper cleaning. Additionally proper water cleaning facilities require chemicals and proper infrastructure which needs money for proper working if there is no cost it is possible that it will deteriorate. So there will be no water supply.
Nevertheless i would argue that there must be no charge for its supply because if people have access to proper clean water they can take care of their health and remain properly hygienic. For instance It is reported people in marginalized communities who do not have access to proper sanitation facilities are more prone to health issue and there is an increasing prevalence of diseases. The government must subsidize water plants and make policies for proper water supply in underserved regions so that the people have access to water.
To conclude i would say it is the right of every person to have access to clean and free water to get a healthy and diseases free life and government must support in this regard.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position on whether water should be free. You present both sides of the argument, acknowledging the counter-argument regarding infrastructure costs and waste, which adds depth. However, the development is somewhat uneven. The explanation of why water should be free is a bit repetitive, focusing primarily on health without exploring broader socio-economic implications. To reach a higher band, ensure that your supporting points are fully extended with more specific examples or logical consequences. The conclusion effectively summarizes your stance, maintaining a consistent position throughout the essay.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Additionally', 'Nevertheless', and 'For instance' to link ideas. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and the transition between the counter-argument and your own view could be smoother. There are instances where the logical progression is slightly hindered by sentence-level errors, such as the run-on sentence in the second paragraph ('Our bodies are made up of 90% of water we use water...'). Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring clear punctuation would enhance the overall coherence.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'marginalized communities', 'infrastructure', and 'subsidize'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'Clean sanitation is an individual right' (sanitation is a process, not a state of cleanliness) and 'diseases free life'. Some phrasing is also repetitive, such as the frequent use of 'proper'. To improve, focus on using more precise collocations and varying your vocabulary to avoid repeating the same descriptors throughout the text.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you attempt complex sentences, there are frequent errors in punctuation and grammar, such as missing commas, run-on sentences, and subject-verb agreement issues (e.g., 'Water cleaning plants are require'). The use of articles is also inconsistent at times. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they occur frequently enough to impact the overall fluency of the writing. To achieve a higher band, focus on proofreading for basic sentence boundaries and ensuring that complex structures are grammatically sound.
