Student answer (Band 6.0)

There is no doubt that water is the natural source of the environment. Ergo every house ought have a filtered water supply that is provided without any charge. I wholeheartedly disagree with this propensity due to the compelling reasons which will analyzed in the subsequent paragraph.

Ostensibly, there are multifarious reasons why clean water is not provided free of cost. The most obvious reason is that the usage of water is surged. To make it more clear, if water supply is provided the free of cost the usage or wastage of H2o is inclined because individuals use water without any attention for the different for purposes such as washing, bathing and many more. As a consequence, both the usage or the wastage of mineral water is inclined.

Furthermore, with the advancement of technology, the usage of water is already surged especially for washing the clothes purposes. what is more, if water provide free of charge echelons start use more water which lead to reduce the level of ground water. For instance, a United States researched that the water provided free of cost than the drainage water accounted for doubled. Besides, some developing nations charge the water bills which is very necessary for manage the proper of water.

Ergo, it would be sagacious to cite that water is a basic human right but I believe that it should not be supplied free of cost which is fruitful to reduce the problem of wastage of water. So, water bill is essential according to the usage of water.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. However, the development of ideas is somewhat repetitive and lacks depth. While the argument that free water leads to wastage is relevant, the supporting evidence—such as the vague reference to a 'United States researched' study—is poorly articulated and lacks clarity. The essay covers the main points required by the task, but the arguments could be more logically extended with more precise examples. The conclusion restates the position effectively, but the overall development remains at a basic level.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'Furthermore', 'Ostensibly', and 'As a consequence', though some are used somewhat mechanically or inappropriately, such as 'Ergo' at the start of the introduction and conclusion. Referencing is occasionally unclear, particularly in the second paragraph where the connection between the research mentioned and the point about drainage water is confusing. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the introduction, body, and conclusion.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The range of vocabulary is adequate for the task, but there are frequent inaccuracies in word choice and collocation. For example, 'propensity' is used incorrectly to mean 'opinion' or 'argument', and 'echelons' is used inappropriately to refer to people. Phrases like 'usage of water is surged' and 'proper of water' are unnatural. While the student attempts to use less common vocabulary, the lack of precision often hinders the clarity of the argument. Basic spelling is generally accurate, but the misuse of academic-sounding words limits the score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Common issues include incorrect verb forms ('ought have', 'water provide'), missing articles, and awkward phrasing ('if water supply is provided the free of cost'). Subject-verb agreement is also inconsistent. While the meaning is generally understandable, the frequency of errors is high enough to cause some difficulty for the reader. Complex structures are attempted, but they are often marred by errors in syntax and word order.
