Student answer (Band 5.0)

while some people argue that access to clean water is a basic human right , and I completely concur with this viewpoint for several compelling reasons.

Water is key of life . Every person deserves to live . They have to drink water for their life. İf they do not access pure water , this is not benefecial for their life and indivduals have got relationships such as family, friends , children... Their health is important for their lovers .

It would be easier . We can access everything in this century ; however , Some people don't have the same opportunities as we do. For example : In Africa people have to go long trip for water because there are not enough water in this region , furtheremore this water is not clean . It threatens human's health problem .

I firmly agree that every home should have a water sources . Thus you can drink water when they you need . İf you have water supply in your home , There is a lot of advantages : First of all , you do not spend money when you go out. You can bring your own water. Most significiantly , you must not spend waste water.

As a result , people should use clean water for their clothes , food , shower etc. Human life is not a cheaper than nothing. Every liver deserves a clean and pure water for their needs . We should protect and share water for our world

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt by expressing a clear position in favor of free water access. However, the development of ideas is limited. While you mention the importance of water for health and the difficulties in regions like Africa, the arguments are somewhat repetitive and lack depth. The discussion regarding the economic aspect of 'free' water is underdeveloped, as you focus more on the convenience of having a tap at home rather than the broader socio-economic implications of universal free supply. To improve, ensure each paragraph introduces a distinct, well-supported point that directly addresses the prompt's core tension between rights and economic feasibility.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the logical flow is often interrupted by disjointed sentences. While you use some cohesive devices like 'First of all' and 'As a result', the transitions between ideas are sometimes mechanical or unclear. For instance, the jump from discussing health to the convenience of not spending money on bottled water feels abrupt. Additionally, the use of punctuation is inconsistent, with spaces before commas and periods, which disrupts the reading flow. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring a smoother progression of ideas would significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for basic communication but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. You rely on simple, repetitive phrasing such as 'water is key of life' and 'not beneficial for their life'. There are also issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'human's health problem' instead of 'public health issues' and 'every liver' instead of 'every living being'. To reach a higher band, you should aim to incorporate more academic vocabulary and precise collocations related to the topic of human rights and public infrastructure.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and some attempted complex structures, but grammatical accuracy is inconsistent. There are frequent errors in subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'there are not enough water'), article usage, and sentence construction. Punctuation is also a significant issue, with many instances of spaces appearing before punctuation marks, which is grammatically incorrect. While the meaning is generally clear, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar and punctuation limits the score. Focusing on proofreading for subject-verb agreement and standardizing punctuation will help improve your accuracy.
