Student answer (Band 5.0)
While some people argue that access to clean water is a basic human right , and I completely concur with this viewpoint for several compelling reasons. Water is the key to life . Every person deserves to live . They have to drink water for their life. İf they do not access pure water , this is not beneficial for their life and individuals have got relationships such as family, friends , children... Their health is important for their lovers . It would be easier . We can access everything in this century ; however , Some people don't have the same opportunities as we do. For example : In Africa people have to go long trip for water because there is not enough water in this region , furthermore this water is not clean . It threatens human health problem . I firmly agree that every home should have a water sources . Thus you can drink water when you need water . If you have water supply in your home , There is a lot of advantages : First of all , you do not spend money when you go out. You can bring your own water. Most significantly , you must not spend waste water. As a result , people should use clean water for their clothes , food , shower etc. Human life is not a cheaper than anything. Every liver deserves clean and pure water for their needs . We should protect and share water for our world

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position in favor of free water access. However, the development of ideas is limited. While you mention the importance of water for health and provide a brief example regarding Africa, the arguments remain somewhat superficial. The essay lacks a deep exploration of the economic or logistical implications of providing water 'free of charge,' which is a key part of the prompt. To improve, you should expand on your reasoning by discussing the potential benefits to society or the challenges governments might face, rather than repeating the basic necessity of water.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is organized into a single block of text, which makes it difficult to follow the progression of ideas. Paragraphing is essential in IELTS writing to separate the introduction, body arguments, and conclusion. While you use some cohesive devices like 'furthermore' and 'as a result,' they are sometimes used incorrectly or in a way that feels mechanical. The flow between sentences is often disjointed, particularly when moving from the importance of water to the economic benefits of having it at home. Using clear topic sentences and paragraph breaks would significantly improve the logical flow.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is generally basic and repetitive. You rely on simple terms like 'good,' 'important,' and 'life' throughout the text. There are also some awkward collocations and word choice errors, such as 'human health problem' and 'human life is not a cheaper than anything.' To achieve a higher band score, you need to demonstrate a wider range of vocabulary, including less common lexical items related to the topic (e.g., 'infrastructure,' 'universal access,' 'socio-economic burden'). Focus on using words that accurately convey your meaning rather than repeating simple phrases.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'every liver deserves'), article usage (e.g., 'go long trip'), and sentence structure. Many sentences are simple or contain run-on structures. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with unnecessary spaces before commas and periods. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors in basic sentence construction prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. You should focus on mastering basic sentence patterns and proofreading for common errors like pluralization and verb forms.
