Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.5
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, reaching only 213 words. This significantly impacts the development of ideas, as the argument remains superficial and repetitive. While you state your position clearly at the beginning, the supporting arguments are under-developed and lack logical depth. The essay ends abruptly mid-sentence, which prevents a full exploration of the topic. To improve, you must expand on your points with specific examples and ensure the essay is fully completed. The failure to reach the minimum length is a major constraint on your ability to demonstrate the required level of task response.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay lacks a clear paragraph structure, which makes it difficult to follow the progression of your ideas. There is a lack of cohesive devices to link sentences and ideas together; for example, the transition between the importance of water and the issue of government charges is abrupt. The text feels like a series of disconnected statements rather than a cohesive argument. To improve, you should use linking words such as 'furthermore', 'consequently', or 'however' to connect your thoughts and organize your writing into distinct paragraphs for the introduction, body, and conclusion.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
Your vocabulary is quite limited and repetitive, relying on basic terms like 'water', 'clean', and 'dirty'. There are frequent errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'I'm Agree of this opinion' instead of 'I agree with this opinion' and 'capable for drinking' instead of 'fit for human consumption'. The spelling is also inconsistent, with errors like 'nesseccery'. To achieve a higher score, you need to expand your range of vocabulary to include more precise, academic terms and focus on correct word forms and collocations.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.5
The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that often impede communication. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement, such as 'many children is died' instead of 'many children have died', and incorrect preposition usage. The sentence structures are mostly simple, and there is a lack of complex sentence forms. Punctuation is also problematic, with missing spaces after commas and periods. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence structures, subject-verb agreement, and the correct use of articles and prepositions before attempting more complex grammatical structures.
