Student answer (Band 5.0)
In the rapidly increasing population, the access of clean water is basic need of every house hold. But in today's world the access of clean water become very rare because of many reasons. I'll discuss these reasons in this eassy, that why clean water is needed and why and it is not avaiable for free. Clean Water is basic demand of public, because we needed it in everything and everywhere. If we discuss one of the most common requirement that Why We want clean water is beacuse of health reason, The water available for us is not clean. It is dirty and unhealthy for many reasons like toxic materials added in water through factories waste and people inability to clean the lakes and rivers.Today factories threw all their chemicals, wastes and dump in the ocean and river, The smog that come from factories aslo have bad effect on clean water. On the other hand today world. many household do not even have access to water supply and the water they use is not free of cost. People have to pay for basic need. For Example, today a significant number of people have to buy water for drinking because water came from taps aren't safe for our health. In my own house we buys water that we use for drinking and cooking process.Even worse in big cities like lohore and karachi some people have to wait for hours, because they don't have access to water 24 hours the water supply came just for 4 to 6 hours. In conclusion, clean water is not public unnecessary demand ,It is basic need that every human being should have free of cost. Steps could be takenby the government in this regard.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by discussing the necessity of clean water and the issue of cost. However, the development is somewhat uneven. While you provide personal examples from Lahore and Karachi, the argument regarding why it should be free is not fully explored or supported with strong logical reasoning. You mention that it is a 'basic need,' but you do not delve into the economic or social implications of providing it free of charge, which limits the depth of your response. To reach a higher band, ensure that each point is extended with clear explanations or evidence rather than just stating the problem.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is organized into an introduction, body, and conclusion, but the paragraphing is insufficient; the entire body of the essay is presented as one long, dense block. This makes it difficult for the reader to follow the progression of your arguments. While you use some cohesive devices like 'On the other hand' and 'In conclusion,' the flow between sentences is often mechanical or repetitive. The referencing is sometimes unclear, and the lack of clear paragraph breaks hinders the overall logical structure of the response.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it is quite repetitive, particularly the phrase 'clean water' and 'basic need.' There are several instances of word-choice errors, such as 'people inability' instead of 'people's inability' and 'factories threw' instead of 'factories throw.' You attempt to use some topic-specific vocabulary like 'toxic materials' and 'chemicals,' but the range is limited. To improve, try to use more precise synonyms and collocations to express your ideas more naturally and avoid basic errors in word form.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('water came from taps aren't safe'), missing articles ('in today's world'), and punctuation errors, such as missing spaces after commas and periods. These errors are frequent and occasionally cause the reader to pause, though they do not completely impede communication. To improve, focus on basic sentence construction, subject-verb agreement, and consistent use of articles.
