Student answer (Band 5.5)
Providing a free of cost clean water to every individual house is a responsibility of the Government. I strongly agree with this statement, because clean water is the most crucial need of every human in this planet and government should supply clean water to every house in the country, it reduce the impact of carbon emission from automobiles and offers a healthy life to a person.
Our natural habitat is polluting day by day due to several factors in which carbon emission from the automobiles had a vast impact. Everyday humans need to drink clean water so they travel on their automobiles to fill a tank of water from the nearest plant due to which a large amount of carbon emits from their cars or bikes. If a government offers a clean drinking water at their doorsteps with the help of underground pipes, the most of the daily carbon emits is reduced. Moreover, the money that they spent on fuels also saved which will have a huge impact on their financial stability.
In addition to clean water, the water that we fill up, from the nearest plant or a machine, have no idea about the quality of water, as it has a great impact on the person's life. If we have the facility of clean water, provided by the government, we should stay fit and healthy. For instance, our body covers almost 70% of water, so a clean water will maintains a body healthy.
To conclude, the access of clean water at every individual house is a major responsibility of the government because it has a variety of affects, from the ecosystem to a person's health.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. However, the development of ideas is somewhat illogical. The argument that providing free water would significantly reduce carbon emissions from automobiles is tenuous and lacks a strong causal link, as most water is not transported by individual car trips to plants. While the position is clear, the supporting arguments are not fully developed or convincing. The essay would benefit from focusing on more direct arguments, such as public health benefits or economic equity, rather than the environmental claim regarding car emissions, which feels forced and distracts from the core issue.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organised into paragraphs, and there is a logical progression of ideas. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'Moreover', 'In addition to', and 'To conclude', which help guide the reader. However, some transitions feel mechanical, and the internal cohesion within paragraphs is occasionally weak due to the tenuous nature of the arguments. Referencing is generally clear, but the flow between the environmental argument and the health argument is somewhat abrupt. Overall, the structure is sufficient to follow the writer's train of thought, but it lacks the sophisticated flow required for higher bands.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks precision and variety. There are several instances of awkward phrasing and word choice errors, such as 'free of cost clean water', 'in this planet', and 'the most of the daily carbon emits'. The use of 'affects' instead of 'effects' is a common error that impacts the professional tone. While the writer attempts to use topic-specific vocabulary, the range is limited, and the errors occasionally draw attention to the language rather than the content. To improve, the student should focus on collocations and word forms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors that persist throughout the text. Examples include 'a clean water will maintains a body healthy' (subject-verb agreement and article usage) and 'the water that we fill up... have no idea' (dangling modifier/incorrect subject). Punctuation is generally functional, but the frequency of errors in basic grammar—specifically articles, verb forms, and pluralisation—is noticeable. While these errors rarely impede communication, they prevent the text from reaching a higher band score, as the majority of sentences are not error-free.
