Student answer (Band 5.5)

Allowance to clean water is definitely a basic human right. Yes, every household should have a water supply which is necessarily provided for free of charge or free of cost.

I completely agree with the above statement because fresh water is a basic and important need for any living household. the government should provide a proper facility of fresh water to every part of the country including the remote areas. The people should be acknowledgeable to understand the need of fresh water and should fight for the right of fresh water. For example, there are many persons in the world who are demised due to lack of fresh drinking water, if the govt provide a safe drinking water many lives can be procured.

Fresh water is a right of every species in the world to have in order to survive. Every human needs water to survive , because fresh water is a essential component in our body to generate energy and provide a great advantage when performing any activity.

I feel that every government in the world should provide their country citizens with a safe and fresh drinking and household water supply for free of cost. if not at a minimal amount.

In conclusion, I would say that every living human in the world should know their rights to fresh and drinking water. The access for the fresh water should be easy and comfortable so that people from remote areas also can easily utilize the water for their households and any other purposes.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

You have clearly stated your position in favor of providing free water, which is maintained throughout the essay. However, the development of your ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention the importance of water for survival and the government's role, the arguments lack depth and specific supporting evidence. For instance, the mention of people dying due to a lack of water is a relevant point, but it is not fully explored or connected to the economic feasibility of providing it for free. To improve, try to expand on the 'why' and 'how' of your arguments, perhaps by discussing the potential impact on public health or the economic burden on governments.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your argument. You use some cohesive devices, such as 'For example' and 'In conclusion', to transition between ideas. However, the flow between sentences is occasionally mechanical, and some transitions feel abrupt. The use of referencing is sometimes unclear, such as in the second paragraph where the connection between 'people should be acknowledgeable' and the subsequent argument could be smoother. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence would enhance the overall coherence.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to express your main points clearly. However, there are several instances of awkward word choices or non-standard collocations, such as 'Allowance to clean water' (should be 'Access to'), 'free of cost or free of cost' (redundant), and 'demised' (which is not used correctly in this context; 'perished' or 'died' would be better). You also use 'procured' incorrectly when referring to saving lives. To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise academic vocabulary and ensuring that words are used in their correct collocations.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as 'the government should provide a proper facility... to every part' (missing article), 'The people should be acknowledgeable to understand' (incorrect word form), and 'if the govt provide' (subject-verb agreement error). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with some sentences starting with lowercase letters. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement, consistent use of articles, and proofreading for basic punctuation errors to ensure your writing is more accurate.
