Student answer (Band 5.5)
I strongly believe that water is a basic human right and everyone should have access to it . however , I do not believe that there should be unlimited access of water to every household .
firstly, clean water is essential for every human being and people use it for their daily needs like drinking, cooking, bathing and in many day-to-day tasks. Therefore, governments should be aware to maintain hygiene in water supply and also ensure that every citizens are getting proper supply of water in their home particularly, to poor families. for example , people in rural areas or underdeveloped towns citizens who cannot afford clean and reliable source of water , government should provide them basic amount of water so they can live good quality of life and save them from harmful diseases.
on the other hand, providing unlimited water supply to people may cause wastage of water and unnecessary consumption. if people do not have to pay for water usage the may become more careless and pay less attention to save it for their future generations . instead, government should provide on limited amount of water to citizen for their daily consumptions and encourage them to save water for their upcoming generations .
in conclusion, I agree that everyone should have acces

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, which significantly impacts the development of ideas. While the position is clear, the conclusion is incomplete, cutting off mid-sentence. The arguments regarding the necessity of water versus the risk of wastage are relevant, but they lack sufficient depth and supporting examples to reach a higher band. The under-length nature of the essay means that the task is only partially addressed, as the discussion remains superficial and the conclusion is absent.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into paragraphs, and there is a basic attempt at logical progression using transition words like 'firstly', 'on the other hand', and 'in conclusion'. However, the cohesion is somewhat mechanical. The abrupt ending of the text disrupts the overall flow and coherence of the argument. Referencing is generally clear, but the lack of a completed concluding paragraph makes the structure feel unfinished and underdeveloped.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks range and sophistication. The student uses basic terms such as 'good quality of life' and 'daily needs'. There are some minor errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'unlimited access of water' instead of 'to water' and 'every citizens are getting' (subject-verb agreement). To improve, the student should aim for more precise academic vocabulary and ensure correct prepositional usage.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The student uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Examples include 'every citizens are getting' (plural/singular mismatch), 'government should provide on limited amount' (incorrect preposition), and 'the may become' (missing subject). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with spaces before commas and periods. While communication is not severely impeded, the frequency of these errors prevents a higher score.
