Student answer (Band 6.0)
Some people believe most of the countries in the world should give the clean drinking water supply to their individuals at home free of cost because it's a basic human right. I agree with the statement at some extent, Water is basic need of every human being so government must supply it as a basic home need while people are wasting lot of water unnecessarily so some restriction must be there on water supply.
On the one hand, water is must required for every individual who live on this earth so it should be free of cost for home which help to people fulfill their basic needs related with water. For instance, water is having lot of bacteria if it is not filtered before consumption so people can get lot of health issues to save from this problem a nation give free clean water supply to human being to live healthy. Furthermore, filtration of water is a expensive process majority of people are not capable to get water cleaning process by themselves which can cause health diseases for people to precure the generation free clean water is needed.
On the other hand, lot of people are wasting water at a higher level impact of that water level is going down in earth significantly and supply is not reaching to the all people easily. For example, lot of people are wasting water in open tabs also washing cars and lot of activities which consume high quantity of water. Moreover, some restriction like bill generation after usage of 100 gallon water use so unwanted wastage can be reduced at some level.
In conclusion, clean water is basic need of every family so people get is free besides this it is a social responsibility of people to save it for our future.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
You have addressed the prompt by presenting a position on whether water should be free. You acknowledge both sides of the argument, which is good. However, the development of your ideas is somewhat limited. For example, your point about 'bacteria' and 'filtration' is relevant but could be explained more clearly to support the argument for free water. Similarly, the suggestion of a 'bill generation' system is a good practical idea, but it needs more elaboration to fully address the complexity of the issue. To reach a higher band, ensure that each paragraph provides a more thorough explanation of the 'why' and 'how' behind your claims.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organised into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your argument. You use basic cohesive devices like 'On the one hand', 'On the other hand', and 'Furthermore' to link your ideas. However, the flow within paragraphs is sometimes hindered by awkward phrasing, such as 'to save from this problem a nation give free clean water'. The use of referencing is occasionally unclear, and some transitions feel mechanical. Improving the variety of your linking words and ensuring that sentences flow more naturally into one another will help improve your score in this criterion.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. You rely on repetitive phrasing, such as 'basic need' and 'lot of'. There are also some issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'precure the generation' (likely meant 'preserve') and 'open tabs' (should be 'taps'). To improve, try to incorporate more academic collocations and precise terminology related to public policy and resource management. Avoid overusing informal intensifiers like 'lot of' and instead use more specific quantifiers.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow of your writing. Issues include missing articles ('to the all people'), subject-verb agreement ('a nation give'), and awkward sentence construction ('water is having lot of bacteria'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with run-on sentences. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence structure, specifically ensuring that every sentence has a clear subject and verb, and pay closer attention to article usage and pluralisation.
