Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position in favor of free water supply. However, the development of ideas is limited. While you mention health benefits and domestic usage, the arguments are repetitive and lack depth. For instance, the claim that 'people can't live without food' is irrelevant to the water debate. The examples provided (Hyderabad, Nizamabad) are specific but are not fully integrated into a logical argument, as the link between pollution and the necessity for free water is not clearly explained. To improve, focus on developing each point with a clear explanation of 'why' and 'how' rather than listing general statements.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is divided into paragraphs, but the internal structure is weak. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'Furthermore' and 'In conclusion', but they are often applied incorrectly or in a way that does not improve the flow of ideas. The sentences within paragraphs often lack logical progression, making it difficult for the reader to follow your train of thought. For example, the transition between the health benefits of water and the mention of cities in India is abrupt. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring each sentence builds upon the previous one is essential for a higher score.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is quite basic and repetitive. You frequently use simple terms like 'good', 'people', and 'water'. There are also issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'agree condition' instead of 'agree with the statement' and 'people can has significant challenge' instead of 'people face significant challenges'. Some phrases are awkward, such as 'water become damaged'. To reach a higher band, you should aim to use more precise vocabulary related to the topic, such as 'infrastructure', 'public utility', 'subsidized', or 'sanitation', and work on using words in their correct grammatical form.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.5

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that often impede communication. There are significant issues with sentence structure, such as run-on sentences and fragments (e.g., 'The Access to clean water is a basic human right in every home it has a water supply it provides free of charge'). Subject-verb agreement is inconsistent, as seen in 'people can has' and 'water was vital role'. Punctuation is also problematic, with many sentences lacking proper terminal marks or using commas where periods are required. You need to focus on basic sentence construction—ensuring every sentence has a clear subject, verb, and object—before attempting more complex structures.
