Student answer (Band 6.0)
To some extent I must agree with that, however it's a challenge for the government to make impossible to possible. I firmly agree with that, access to clean water is a basic human right. No one should be deprived from his basic rights.
My first major reason for that is , it is true and I believe that everyone should have access to clean water. Some households cannot afford this service, but the authorities need to be responsible for that. They need to introduce this service free of cost. Because, if the water is dirty, then it can be detrimental for the health of residents of the country. It can affect the health sector, authorities will have to spend more on hospitals. Therefore, clean water should be provided to everyone.
My compelling argument on this is that, it is simply impossible for government to supply clean water to evry resident of the country. In developed countries like China, America, and Japan, it is possible for them to provide clean water to citizens , they can endure the burden of expenditure. However, poor and populated countries cannot bear the cost of providing clean and fresh water to everyone. Even in some countries there is shortage of water, people cannot have a just sip of water.
In conclusion, I believe that it's not impossible to provide clean water to everyone, it can be possible. Developed countries need to give aid to poor countries. Assist those countries who has shortage of water. Clean water can be provided to them by advanced filters. Countries can install filters in rural areas for clean water.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt, but the position is somewhat contradictory. You begin by stating you agree, then suggest it is 'impossible' for governments, and finally conclude that it is 'not impossible.' This lack of a clear, consistent stance throughout the essay limits the development of your argument. While you provide some relevant points regarding health and economic constraints, the ideas are not fully extended. For instance, the suggestion that developed countries should provide aid is a good point, but it is introduced only in the conclusion rather than being integrated into the body of the argument. To improve, ensure your position is clearly defined in the introduction and maintained consistently, with each paragraph dedicated to supporting that specific viewpoint.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical or repetitive, such as the frequent use of 'My first major reason' and 'My compelling argument.' Additionally, some transitions between sentences are abrupt, making the flow feel slightly disjointed. For example, the jump from discussing the health sector to the impossibility of government funding lacks a smooth logical bridge. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and phrases to connect your ideas more naturally, and ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence that relates back to your main argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'detrimental,' 'expenditure,' and 'authorities.' However, there are instances of imprecise word choice and minor errors, such as 'make impossible to possible' (which should be 'make the impossible possible') and 'just a sip of water.' The vocabulary is generally functional but lacks the sophistication or precision required for higher bands. To improve, try to incorporate more topic-specific collocations and avoid repeating basic phrases. Focus on using words that accurately convey your intended meaning without relying on overly simplistic phrasing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as 'deprived from his basic rights' (should be 'deprived of'), 'evry' (spelling), and 'countries who has' (should be 'countries that have'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage, such as 'My first major reason for that is , it is true'. These errors occur frequently enough to be noticeable, although they do not prevent the reader from understanding your message. To improve, proofread your work specifically for subject-verb agreement and common prepositional errors.
