Student answer (Band 6.0)
Availability of drinking water should be monitor in homes and prioritize free of cost as clean water is essential for lives. I strongly agree with this statement as basic needs must be free for living.
As water plays very crucial role in living organisms life. Particularly, human survival is not possible without water like oxygen is essential for breathing. H2O which is chemical name of water is very important and a significant proportion of our body consists mainly on water. Consumption of water for human beings is crucial to great extent.
Conversely, clean water must be available in homes as it is a basic requirement of living. In many areas of under developing countries like, Pakistan, India and Bangladesh water supply is a problem faced by a numerous amount of people living there. And due to this factor number of diseases are being increasing in certain areas. Clean water consumption is as important as consumption of oxygen for breathing. As it is basic need and people face a lot of difficulties for having clean water is creating bad community that automatically affects lives. People usually try to purchase purified water from markets but it does affects their finances. It should be responsibility of government and higher authorities like WHO to ensure availability of clean water supply in homes without burdening people budget that would be helpful for healthy lives.
It is concluded, that water is essential part of life but people face difficulties in order to get purified water in many areas of the world. It must be a responsibility of government to make it available for everyone in their homes.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. The arguments regarding the necessity of water and the government's role are relevant. However, the development is somewhat repetitive, particularly the comparison to oxygen, which is mentioned twice. The ideas are generally supported, but the analysis lacks depth in terms of economic or logistical implications of 'free' water, which would have strengthened the argument. The response is well-focused on the topic, but the supporting points could be more varied to demonstrate a higher level of critical thinking.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, though the transition between the introduction and the body is slightly abrupt. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'Conversely' and 'In many areas', but some are used incorrectly or mechanically. For instance, 'Conversely' is used to introduce a supporting point rather than a contrasting one. Referencing is generally clear, but the flow of ideas is occasionally hindered by awkward phrasing. Paragraphing is present, but the logical progression within paragraphs could be smoother to better connect the premise of water as a right to the conclusion of government responsibility.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks sophistication. There is some repetition of basic terms like 'water', 'essential', and 'living'. While the student attempts to use some academic vocabulary, such as 'proportion' and 'consumption', there are errors in collocation and word choice, such as 'monitor' instead of 'monitored' and 'under developing countries' instead of 'developing countries'. The range is sufficient to convey the message, but the lack of precise, varied vocabulary limits the score. More idiomatic expressions or precise academic collocations would improve the lexical profile.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede readability. Examples include 'Availability of drinking water should be monitor' (passive voice error), 'consists mainly on water' (preposition error), and 'number of diseases are being increasing' (tense error). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. While the meaning is generally clear, the frequency of these errors suggests a lack of control over complex structures, keeping the score in the mid-range.
