Student answer (Band 5.5)

It is often argued that availability of spotless water is a requirement of every individual. Hence all houses should need a water supply which is offered without any cost. I largely agree that availability of clean water is not only a necessity its more about a health. So our first priority must be drinking or consuming a pure water.

Firstly, the primary reason for my opinion is our government should pay attention on it that their natives are getting neat water or not. To illustrate, all around the world teams that are specifically hire for checking water quality. Their foremost duty is to check the quality of water of every home. This shows that how much other countries are concerned about people and their health. If a counterpoint exists that only access of getting enough water is blessing so why would we care about quality. This argument is outweighted by the evidence supporting the opposing view.

Secondly, Another key argument is we are also responsible for our health. In many countries if people find that they are not getting clean water their first priority is to call a water supply company for its maintenance. This demonstrates that people globally are very much health conscious and do care about their health. Critics may claim nonavailability of tidy water is not a serious problem in my countries people are drinking salty water but still they are surviving healthy. In contrast, i firmly believe that arguments in favour of my position are more convincing and better backed by facts.

In conclusion, i firmly agree that access of acquiring hygienic water is not only for usage its even more about health. Although the benefits of my stance is far more significant for people and society.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt, but the development of ideas is inconsistent. While you state your position clearly, the arguments provided are somewhat tangential. For instance, the discussion about 'water quality' and 'maintenance' does not directly address the core issue of whether water should be 'free of charge'. You mention that the government should pay for it, but you do not explore the economic or social implications of free water supply. The ideas are presented but lack the depth required for a higher band. To improve, ensure your supporting points directly relate to the specific prompt—in this case, the financial aspect of providing free water.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organised into paragraphs, and there is a basic attempt at logical progression. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. For example, the transition 'If a counterpoint exists that only access of getting enough water is blessing so why would we care about quality' is confusing and lacks a clear link to the preceding sentence. Additionally, the referencing is sometimes unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow the flow of your argument. Improving the variety and precision of your linking words will help create a smoother, more professional structure.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the precision and flexibility needed for a higher score. You use some awkward collocations, such as 'spotless water' (instead of 'clean' or 'potable water') and 'natives are getting neat water'. There is also a tendency to repeat basic words like 'health' and 'quality'. To reach a higher band, focus on using more academic collocations and precise terminology related to public policy and infrastructure. Avoid informal phrasing and ensure that your word choices are appropriate for an academic context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Common issues include incorrect article usage (e.g., 'is more about a health'), subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'all houses should need a water supply'), and awkward phrasing (e.g., 'teams that are specifically hire'). While the meaning is generally understandable, the frequency of these errors prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focus on proofreading for basic errors like verb forms, articles, and prepositions to improve your overall accuracy.
