Student answer (Band 5.5)
Clean water should be accessible to everyone and anyone. To that reason, water supply ought to be provided in every individuals' home without the cost of any charge. This essay will demonstrate on why I strongly believe agree with statement.
There is no doubt that water is an essential for humans especially clean filtered water. It should be provided for everyone including those who are underprivileged. As to the reason that some people do not have the financial ability to even access such a basic everyday thing -- plus it is only fair that everyone have water to survive. For instance, in many villages in Africa, clean water can be difficult to get due to financially problems and proverty. Therefore, clean water should be provided for those villages without any charge.
Not only does it benefit the lower classes, it also helps prevent diseases from spreading around. To further demonstrate, this means that when people drink unfiltered water such as water from the river or pond, they could be infected with unknown diseases, even affecting others; possibly making it global. To demonstrate, it has been obviously known generally that drinking clean water is the safest option as it has been proven that there are no bacterias due to different ways in filtering water. If the population were to drink dirty water, the number of diseases would also increase and possibly new ones to come up. By means, installed water supply in homes may decrease infections and prevent new ones.
In conclusion, I believe that every individual should have access to clean water with being charged as it is an essential for everyone especially for those in proverty plus it helps decrease the amount of diseases or prevent new ones from developing.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The essay addresses the prompt by taking a clear position in favor of free water supply. The ideas are relevant, focusing on human rights, poverty, and public health. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the argument regarding public health is repetitive, and the link between 'installed water supply' and 'preventing new diseases' is asserted rather than logically explained. While the position is consistent, the supporting arguments could be more nuanced and detailed to reach a higher band. The conclusion effectively summarizes the main points, but the overall depth of the response remains at a functional level.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear central topic. There is a progression of ideas from the moral argument to the health-related benefits. However, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'To that reason' or 'By means, installed water supply'. Referencing is generally clear, but the flow between sentences could be smoother. The transition between the introduction and the body paragraphs is functional, but the essay would benefit from a wider variety of linking words to improve the overall cohesion.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing the student to express their opinions clearly. There are some attempts to use less common vocabulary, such as 'underprivileged' and 'infected', but there are also persistent errors in word choice and form, such as 'proverty' (poverty), 'financially problems' (financial problems), and 'without being charged' (instead of 'without charge'). The repetition of basic terms like 'clean water' and 'diseases' limits the range. To improve, the student should focus on accurate word formation and collocations to convey ideas with more precision.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with articles ('the cost of any charge'), pluralization ('every individuals' home'), and preposition usage. Some sentences are slightly awkward, such as 'This essay will demonstrate on why I strongly believe agree with statement.' These errors do not usually impede communication, but they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. The student should focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of prepositions to improve accuracy.
