Student answer (Band 6.0)
in contemporary epoch, it is often alleged that access of pure water is basic human right. although, each and every house should have access of water supply that is provided free of charge. Moreover, life without water is not possible and water is essential for life. I partly agree with this statement and this essay will discuss why.
the major reason that water should provided free of cost because water is major requirement for various household work like drinking ,bathing, washing and many more. Moreover, it helps to protect masses from various diseases and keep communities healthy. for instance, wealthy people can afford if water supply is given according to prices but poor people cant afford it so water is provided at free of charge.
secondly, government should set a reasonable price of water supply because construction and maintenance of water pipes take huge cost of government, Moreover, if water will provided entirely free people will left running taps and they will waste a lot of water. These outcomes will harm environment and it will decrease level of clean water. For instance, country like India water is provided free of cost and in recent reports it is recorded that waste from household get dump into clean water bodies which pollute them which decreases level of clean water
To sum up, I believe that government should provide some amount of water free of cost to complete daily needs and tax should impose on excess usage of water so I partly agree with this statement

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear, albeit nuanced, position. You have identified both sides of the argument: the necessity of water as a human right and the practical concerns regarding cost and waste. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. While you provide examples, such as the mention of India, the explanation of how free water leads to pollution is slightly underdeveloped and could be more logically connected to the argument. To reach a higher band, ensure that each supporting point is fully explained with clear links back to your central thesis.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. You use some cohesive devices like 'Moreover', 'secondly', and 'To sum up' to guide the reader. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or repetitive. Additionally, there are instances where the flow between sentences is slightly disjointed, such as the transition between the introduction and the first body paragraph. Improving the variety of your linking words and ensuring that referencing (e.g., 'these outcomes') is precise will help improve the overall flow and coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'contemporary', 'maintenance', and 'impose'. However, there are several instances of awkward collocation and word choice, such as 'access of pure water' (should be 'access to'), 'take huge cost' (should be 'incur high costs'), and 'get dump' (should be 'are dumped'). These errors occasionally hinder the precision of your expression. To improve, focus on learning common collocations and practicing the correct usage of prepositions with nouns like 'access' and 'cost'.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with articles ('the government', 'a basic human right'), subject-verb agreement ('people will left'), and verb forms ('water will provided'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with some missing spaces after commas and periods. To achieve a higher score, you need to increase the frequency of error-free sentences and pay closer attention to basic grammatical rules, especially regarding articles and passive voice construction.
