Student answer (Band 5.0)
As fare as this topic is concerned, i do agree with the statement that the free fresh water supply is basic human right which has always been debatable and now become more controversial over the shortage of fresh water supply in different parts of the world.
The core reason i support this statement that water is always our biggest need almost and interruption in it not only effect human life can also have an impact on economy. As our household is based on water supply all the time any sort of interruption can cause longer effect.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0
The response is significantly under the required 250-word minimum, reaching only 105 words. Because the essay is incomplete and stops mid-sentence, it fails to develop any arguments fully. While you state your position clearly in the introduction, the body paragraphs are underdeveloped and lack the necessary supporting evidence or examples required for an academic essay. To improve, you must ensure you complete the task by writing at least 250 words and providing fully expanded arguments for each point you raise. Currently, the response is too fragmented to meet the requirements for a higher band score.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay lacks a clear structure due to its incomplete nature. While there is an attempt to use basic cohesive devices like 'The core reason' and 'If we see', the progression of ideas is interrupted by the abrupt ending. Paragraphing is present, but the content within the paragraphs is too sparse to demonstrate effective logical flow. To improve, focus on planning your essay into a clear introduction, two distinct body paragraphs with topic sentences, and a conclusion. Ensure that each idea is linked logically to the next using a variety of cohesive devices.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is generally basic and repetitive. Phrases such as 'biggest need' and 'any sort of interruption' are functional but lack the precision expected in an academic context. There are also some awkward collocations, such as 'As fare as this topic is concerned' (should be 'As far as') and 'continution of fresh water'. To achieve a higher score, you should aim to use a wider range of academic vocabulary and ensure correct spelling and word choice. Focus on learning collocations related to environmental and social issues to enhance your writing style.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including issues with article usage ('the free fresh water supply'), subject-verb agreement, and sentence structure. For example, 'i do agree' should be capitalized, and 'not only effect human life can also have' is syntactically incorrect. The range of structures is limited, consisting mostly of simple or slightly flawed complex sentences. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring proper capitalization, and practicing the use of complex structures like relative clauses or conditional sentences to add variety and accuracy to your writing.
