Student answer (Band 5.5)
To live a healthy life it is very crucial to have easy access to clean drinking water for every possible living being. Therefore, it is necessary that there shouldn’t have any charges on the water facilities for every possible house . In my opinion it is not so humane for any person to put charges on drinking water. Without any clean drinking water it’s nearly impossible to have a healthy and steady life.
From my standpoint, the government has the responsibility of its residents and to take care of their basic necessities such as clean water to drink. If there isn’t any enough supply of potable water then it means all the taxes are paid in vain. Clean water is as essential for adults as it is for children. By not giving it’s access to citizens for free they are playing with their basic human rights. For instance if there is not pure drinking water for humans they will be easily immune to diseases like diarrhoea and stomach problems.
Furthermore, 75% of human bodies is basically made up of water , this fact shows how much significance water has in human life. Not only our bodies contain 75% of water but earth also contains 75% of water. Therefore , we can utilise the water from Mother Earth and make it clean enough to drink. Due to this fact, it is of great importance than clean drinking water should be delivered to the threshold of every residential area without any water bills to make their lives easier.
To recapitulate, clean and pure drinking water is the basic necessity of human beings therefore every residential area have the access to it without paying any peny.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position in favor of free water. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention the government's responsibility and health benefits, the arguments remain at a surface level. For instance, the claim that 'all taxes are paid in vain' if water isn't free is an assertion that lacks supporting evidence or logical expansion. To reach a higher band, you should explore the economic or social implications of your position more deeply, perhaps by discussing how governments could subsidize such a service or the potential impact on water conservation.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Furthermore', 'Therefore', and 'To recapitulate' to link ideas. However, the flow between sentences is occasionally mechanical, and some transitions feel slightly forced. Referencing is sometimes unclear, such as in the sentence 'By not giving it’s access to citizens for free they are playing with their basic human rights', where the pronoun 'they' lacks a clear antecedent. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring smoother transitions between sentences would enhance the overall coherence.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. You rely on basic phrasing like 'very crucial', 'not so humane', and 'make their lives easier'. There are also some awkward collocations and word choice errors, such as 'immune to diseases' (you likely meant 'susceptible to') and 'paying any peny' (spelling error). To improve, try to incorporate more sophisticated vocabulary related to public policy, economics, and human rights, and ensure that words are used in their correct collocations.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow. Examples include 'there shouldn’t have any charges' (incorrect verb usage), 'isn’t any enough supply' (redundant/incorrect phrasing), and 'every residential area have the access' (subject-verb agreement error). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with spacing around commas. While the meaning is generally clear, the frequency of these errors prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and correct auxiliary verb usage will significantly improve your accuracy.
