Student answer (Band 5.0)
In the past, people were use water very carefully and they were consider themselves responsible to clean water. They were considered that access to clean water is a basic human right. But today, people are useless and waste water resources like waste water while bathing , doing dishes.
Nowadays, in my country water is about to diminish in the future. Civils are careless and waste a lot of water because people are not aware about the social issues. I firmly believe that access to clean water is a basic human right. Therefore every home should have a water supply that is provided free of charge. My country is provided water to the citizen almost free of cost. I agree with you that everyone should have to be careful about cleaniness of water.
Water is essential for everyone to survive. There is no life without water. Because every meal is made up of water. Everyone should have to clean water because it is the blessing.
In conclusion, in the past people were careful about to use water because at that time there were not enough water to used. Today, people are not aware about using water and they are careless and waste water. Everyone should have to clean water and use them carefully. In my country, water is provided to everyone free of charges.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, which significantly impacts the development of ideas. While you state a clear position, the arguments are repetitive and lack depth. For instance, you mention that water is a basic human right and should be free, but you do not explore the economic or social implications of such a policy. The ideas are under-developed, and the conclusion simply restates the introduction without adding new insight. To improve, you must expand on your reasoning with specific examples or logical consequences to ensure the task is fully addressed.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the logical progression within them is weak. Transitions are often missing or used incorrectly, such as the abrupt shift between discussing water waste and the assertion that water is a human right. The use of cohesive devices is limited and sometimes mechanical, making the flow of ideas feel disjointed. For example, the phrase 'Because every meal is made up of water' is a non-sequitur that disrupts the coherence of the paragraph. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring each sentence builds logically upon the previous one is essential.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is basic and often repetitive. You frequently use the same words, such as 'waste' and 'water', throughout the text. There are also issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'Civils are careless' (instead of 'citizens' or 'people') and 'cleaniness of water' (instead of 'cleanliness'). The range of vocabulary is insufficient to express complex ideas effectively. To reach a higher band, you should aim to incorporate more precise terminology related to environmental issues and public policy, while avoiding repetitive phrasing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
There are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('people were use water'), incorrect verb tenses ('they were consider themselves'), and awkward sentence structures ('My country is provided water to the citizen'). The range of sentence structures is limited, relying mostly on simple sentences. Complex structures are attempted but are often inaccurate, such as 'at that time there were not enough water to used'. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for tense consistency would greatly improve your accuracy.
