Access to clean water is essential for human survival, and I strongly believe that each person should have access to a safe water supply free of cost cleanliness is important for everyone regardless of their financial situation.
Firstly, Clean water is necessary for maintaining good health and preventing contaminated diseases. People need water for drinking, cooking, bathing and for cleaning purpose. If clean water is too expensive for low income households, they may be forced to limit their water usage or rely on unsafe sources. Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, as it is only 158 words long. Consequently, the development of ideas is severely limited. While you have established a clear position and provided relevant arguments regarding health and social inequality, the essay is incomplete, ending abruptly in the conclusion. To improve, you must expand on your points with more detailed examples and ensure the essay is fully developed to meet the length requirement. The current lack of completion prevents a higher score as the task is not fully addressed.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay shows a basic attempt at logical organization, using transition signals like 'Firstly' and 'Secondly' to introduce points. However, the abrupt ending significantly disrupts the overall coherence. Paragraphing is present, but the final paragraph is incomplete, which hinders the flow of the argument. To improve, ensure that each paragraph contains a fully developed idea and that the conclusion provides a comprehensive summary of your main points. Improving the use of cohesive devices to link sentences more fluidly would also help the progression of your ideas.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to convey your main points clearly. You use some relevant topic-specific terms such as 'contaminated diseases', 'social inequality', and 'low income households'. However, there are some inaccuracies, such as 'cleaning purpose' (should be 'cleaning purposes') and 'increase risk' (should be 'increased risk'). To reach a higher band, you should aim to incorporate a wider range of less common vocabulary and ensure precise word choice and collocation throughout your writing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The response contains a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, such as missing punctuation between independent clauses in the introduction and errors in pluralization and word forms (e.g., 'contaminated diseases' instead of 'waterborne diseases'). While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to affect the overall quality. To improve, focus on sentence boundary punctuation and ensure subject-verb agreement and correct word forms are used consistently.
