Student answer (Band 5.5)
Approach to neat water is a primary public right. Therefore each house should have a water supply that is offered free of cost.
In my view, water supply is a basic right of citizen and i am totally agree with this. As its a human need , and it should be free or so cheap so that even a low income families should afford it. the Government should also perform their responsibilities so that everyone should have the access of this clean water. Moreover people give a lot of taxes , even a person with low salary give taxes by hook or by crook so that the country policies can be maintained , so i think in this case the authorities should perform their duties and make sure that every individual should have access of this purify water so that we can move towards better development and progress of Pakistan. For example ,In European countries like France , UK , USA, Germany and so on , authorities provide their citizen with clean water and it's so cheap that even a person with low budget can afford it.
Moreover I would like to say that there are more other ways which can be utilize to provided supply water to public , one of them is that the organize a proper institutions which provided the water to every individuals , so that a public can enjoy the facilities by taking a good care of their health.
In conclusion , pure water is a basic right of citizen and it should be provided to everyone with no cost or with cheap prices by organizing the proper institutions by the authorities.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position in favor of free water supply. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention the role of government and taxation, the arguments remain repetitive and lack depth. For instance, the suggestion to 'organize a proper institution' is vague and not fully explained. To reach a higher band, you should provide more nuanced reasoning regarding the economic implications of 'free' water versus 'subsidized' water, as well as the potential challenges governments might face in implementing such a policy. The response is somewhat over-generalized, focusing heavily on the concept of rights without exploring the practical complexities of the topic.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the argument. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or repetitive (e.g., 'Moreover', 'In conclusion'). There are instances where the logical flow between sentences is disjointed, such as the transition from discussing taxes to the example of European countries. Referencing is sometimes unclear, and the paragraphing could be more effectively used to separate distinct points. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear, unified focus would significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. You rely on basic phrasing such as 'free of cost' and 'clean water' repeatedly. There are also some inaccuracies in word choice, such as 'Approach to neat water' (likely meaning 'Access to clean water') and 'purify water' (should be 'purified water'). To improve, you should aim to incorporate more sophisticated vocabulary related to public policy and economics, and pay closer attention to collocations to ensure your word choices sound natural in an academic context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'low income families should afford it'), article usage (e.g., 'the access of this clean water'), and awkward phrasing (e.g., 'i am totally agree with this'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with spacing around commas. While the meaning is generally understandable, the frequency of these errors prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for common grammatical slips will help improve your score.
