Student answer (Band 5.5)
Many people believe that clean water is necessary and access to clean water is a basic human right. I agreed with this. But the government provide clean water to all humans free of charge is not possible. It is very difficult for the government to do this for everyone.
On the one hand, clean water is necessary for all humans. It plays very important role in our daily life tasks and our health. It prevents humans from several diseases. Dirty water increase the chance of many diseases like bacteria and infections. Which is very harmful for our health. We cannot do cooking, washing clothes, planting the trees and cannot take care of our hygiene. There is much need clean water in poorer areas where they have no access to clean water.
On the other hand, public should provide clean water to every human free of cost is extremely difficult. If authorities give clean water to everyone free, it is not easy to manage the infrastructure of pipelines and manage the salaries of their employees. People will start to waste more water because they know they do not have to pay for it. Just like in washing their cars, planting the trees and open taps etc. They will never save water for the future. They will not worried about the shortage of water in our country.
In my point of view, public provide clean water to human because it is a basic right for all. But govrenment

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt by discussing both sides of the argument, but it is incomplete as it ends abruptly mid-sentence. The position is clear, but the development of ideas is limited by the unfinished conclusion. Furthermore, the response falls short of the 250-word minimum requirement, which negatively impacts the task achievement score. To improve, ensure that you fully develop your arguments with specific examples and complete your essay with a coherent conclusion. The current length and the incomplete ending prevent a higher score.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay uses basic paragraphing and some cohesive devices like 'On the one hand' and 'On the other hand' to organize ideas. However, the progression is hindered by the abrupt ending. Referencing is sometimes unclear, such as in the sentence 'Which is very harmful for our health,' where the relative pronoun lacks a clear antecedent. The flow between sentences is occasionally mechanical, and the lack of a final summary paragraph makes the overall structure feel incomplete. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring a logical conclusion would enhance the coherence.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. There is some repetition of basic terms like 'clean water' and 'humans.' While the meaning is generally clear, there are some awkward collocations, such as 'planting the trees' in the context of household water use, which is not a standard example of domestic water consumption. To improve, try to incorporate more topic-specific vocabulary related to public policy, infrastructure, and resource management, and avoid repetitive phrasing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay relies heavily on simple sentence structures. While there are some attempts at complex sentences, they often contain errors, such as 'But the government provide clean water... is not possible' (subject-verb agreement and structure) and 'People will not worried' (incorrect verb form). Punctuation is generally functional, but there are errors in sentence boundaries, such as starting a sentence with 'Which is very harmful.' Frequent grammatical errors, particularly with verb tenses and subject-verb agreement, are present throughout the text, though they do not completely impede communication.
