Student answer (Band 5.5)
Access to safe and clean water is a fundamental human right. However, millions of people around the world still lack reliable access to essential resources. I strongly agree that government should provide this facility to everyone, regardless of their financial circumstances.
The primary reason why access to clean water should be consider as basic human rights is that it is essential for human health or survival. People consume water for drinking or cooking purpose. Furthermore, water is the major part of our agricultural products. Lack of clean water can cause fatal diseases such as Hepatitis, cholera and diarrhoea. Poor communities are vulnerable to diseases because they cannot afford bottled water and water purification system. For example, In developing countries people who lack clean water resources are more likely to suffer from waterborne diseases. Therefore, access to clean water should not depend on a person's income.
Another important point is that, government should take responsibility to ensure availability of clean water to all sections of community. Government can invest in water purification project especially in pipelines and water tankers. Their main focus should be the disadvantage communities whose water sources are still wells or river which are unhygienic. For Instance, government can built water filtration plants in rural areas and ensure access to all people without any cost.
In conculsion, access to safe and clean water is the basic human right.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position, but it fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, reaching only 230 words. This under-length significantly impacts the development of ideas. While the main arguments regarding health and government responsibility are relevant, they are not fully extended. The conclusion is also abrupt and lacks a summary of the main points. To improve, you must expand your supporting arguments with more detailed examples or analysis to ensure you meet the length requirement and provide a more comprehensive discussion.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Furthermore', 'Therefore', and 'For instance' to link sentences. However, the connection between ideas is sometimes mechanical, and the lack of a proper concluding paragraph (which is currently just one sentence) affects the overall flow. To reach a higher band, ensure that your paragraphs are balanced in length and that your conclusion effectively synthesizes the arguments presented in the body paragraphs rather than just restating the introduction.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'fundamental human right', 'vulnerable', and 'waterborne diseases'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'water purification system' (should be plural) and 'disadvantage communities' (should be 'disadvantaged'). The vocabulary is functional but lacks the sophistication or precision required for higher bands. To improve, focus on using more precise collocations and ensure you use the correct word forms (e.g., adjectives vs. nouns) when describing social groups or technical processes.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are several recurring grammatical errors, such as 'should be consider' (should be 'considered'), 'human rights' (should be singular 'a human right'), and 'government can built' (should be 'build'). Additionally, there are missing articles throughout the text, such as 'in pipelines' or 'to all sections of community'. These errors are frequent enough to be noticeable but do not prevent the reader from understanding your message. Increasing your focus on subject-verb agreement and article usage will help improve your score.
