Student answer (Band 6.0)
Many people think it is a basic human right to have clean water. So, every home should have a water supply that is provided free. I strongly agree with this statement having clean water is basic human right.
First reason why I agree with this statement is that, clean water plays a major role in our lives. Nowadays, water pollution is increasing and making people ill. For example, many people drink water from canals, lakes and other water resources since there is no water available in their house. As a result, these people condition becomes worse due to polluted water. We see in our daily life many animals drink water from such kind of open resources if clean water will not be available in the houses of people they becomes ill. Additionally, after drinking dirty water their condition becomes worse.
Second reason is that, if we have free clean water resource it will be beneficial for our health since clean water provides benefit in many ways such as, good skin,
Healthy stomach and also good for our daily lives. For example, in America or other developed countries have filter in their home which makes water clean despite this government also plays a big role by providing them clean water. As a result, the people of these countries are more healthy than us due to drinking clean water. Furthermore, in Pakistan many cities are getting clean water free of cost but not in rural areas because of short resources.
In contrast, many people argue that we have limited resources that is why it is almost impossible to provide clean water to everyone without any cost. The best solution is everyone should take their responsibility own likewise people should fix filters in their houses for the facility of clean water in this way there will be low burden on government and we can facilitate ourselves with clean water.
In conclusion, I agree that having the facility of clean water is basic human need so we have a right to get free clean water without paying. Despite this fact, many people are fixing filters for getting clean water.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. You have provided relevant reasons for your agreement, such as health benefits and the necessity of clean water. However, the development of ideas is somewhat repetitive, particularly in the second paragraph where the point about illness is restated multiple times. The counter-argument in the fourth paragraph is a good addition, but it could be more effectively integrated to strengthen your overall argument. To improve, ensure that each paragraph introduces a distinct, well-developed point rather than circling back to the same concept. Overall, the task is addressed, but the depth of analysis could be enhanced to reach a higher band.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your argument. You use some cohesive devices, such as 'First reason', 'Second reason', 'In contrast', and 'In conclusion', to signal the structure. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical, and the flow between sentences within paragraphs is occasionally disjointed. For example, the transition between the discussion of animals and the impact on humans in the second paragraph is abrupt. Additionally, some referencing is unclear, such as 'these people condition' instead of 'these people's condition'. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring smoother transitions between ideas will help improve your score in this area.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'water pollution', 'developed countries', and 'limited resources'. However, there are instances of word-choice errors and awkward phrasing, such as 'short resources' (should be 'limited resources') and 'fixing filters' (should be 'installing filters'). The repetition of basic words like 'clean water' and 'good' limits the sophistication of your writing. To achieve a higher band, try to incorporate more precise synonyms and collocations, and work on using less common vocabulary more accurately to express your ideas with greater nuance.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you attempt to use complex sentences, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement ('they becomes ill') and article usage ('have filter in their home'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with some run-on sentences and missing commas. These errors do not generally impede communication, but they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. To improve, focus on mastering basic subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles, and try to vary your sentence structure by using more complex subordinating conjunctions correctly.
