Student answer (Band 5.0)
Yes definitely, I agree that Clean water should be available for all, as it a basic human right plus it is essential for our health.
As we all know that their is no life with water .Every Individual need water to survive, and water is not only needed for drinking but also for other purposes.
We even use water for preparing meals so it should be fit for drinking
For example, Many people living in other areas of our city , were unable to access clean water ,which is affecting their health, even the timings of water is limited so its making hard for people to live in these areas.
People are unable to make food from that hard water, making a simple tea is a big task for them .
Even at my place hard water is a big issue, we are facing skin problems like itching and hairloss i wonder we cannot drink this water without aquaguard and also their will be number of people who can afford these water filter ,so drinking this water can cause gut and kidney issues.
I think government should supply clean water with no tax as it a basic necessity. However I feel if people will give no tax on water they will not know the importance of saving water and its importance.
From my point of view , there should a low tax rate as people will also get aware of its importance ,and everyone can give tax on it and save water for future .

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position, though the argument is somewhat contradictory. You initially argue for free water, then pivot to suggesting a low tax rate to encourage conservation. While you address the task, the development of ideas is limited. The examples provided, such as the mention of 'aquaguard' and local skin issues, are personal and anecdotal rather than academic. To improve, you should focus on developing broader, more analytical arguments regarding the economic and social implications of free water supply, rather than relying on personal experiences. The conclusion is a bit abrupt and contradicts the initial thesis.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay lacks a formal structure. It is written as a series of short, choppy sentences rather than well-developed paragraphs. There is a lack of cohesive devices to link ideas; for example, the transition between the health benefits of water and the economic argument about taxation is abrupt. The use of paragraphing is insufficient, as the text is mostly one large block. To improve, ensure each paragraph has a clear topic sentence and use linking words like 'furthermore', 'consequently', or 'on the other hand' to guide the reader through your argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is generally simple and repetitive. You rely on basic terms like 'big task', 'big issue', and 'hard water'. There are also some inaccuracies in word choice, such as 'making a simple tea is a big task' and 'give tax', which should be 'pay taxes'. While the meaning is generally clear, there is little attempt to use more sophisticated or academic vocabulary appropriate for an IELTS Task 2 essay. Expanding your range to include more precise terminology related to public policy and resource management would significantly improve your score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including issues with subject-verb agreement ('Every Individual need'), punctuation (incorrect spacing before commas), and article usage ('the timings of water is limited'). Sentence structures are predominantly simple, with few attempts at complex sentences. When you do attempt complex structures, they often contain errors, such as 'i wonder we cannot drink this water without aquaguard and also their will be number of people'. You need to focus on basic sentence construction, correct use of articles, and ensuring that your punctuation follows standard conventions.
