Student answer (Band 5.5)
Clean water is very essential for every living being no one could live out water clean water is a basic human right . therefore every home should have a water supply that is provided free of charge, I partly agree with that statment that every home should have the access of clean water without any cost.
Nowadays clean water is very essential because people are using polluted and contaminated water which is unsafe for humans and causes serveral health issues for instance high fever, diarrhea ,typhoid and skin infection.
these diseases primarily cause gastrointestinal issuesand in severe cases, can even be fatal , especially in developing counties like pakistan.
the government should ensure proper filtration , educate the populace about boiling water, and improve sewage systems. Goverment should also install the filter plant in every city or an area so that people can get the clean water , they can also take initiative and start the providing clean water at the door step by starting bus service that distribute clean water at everyones house.
For example in China they had an amazing service for their country they provide the clean water at every ones home every onr had a access of clean water at their homes , they also take good care of health related issuses if someone is facing any .
I strongly agree that goverment should take initiative for the public good health being and provide clean water service at everyone home so that each and every individual can have access to the clean water .

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by taking a position on whether water should be free. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. While you mention health issues and government responsibility, the argument regarding the 'free of charge' aspect is not fully explored or balanced against economic realities (e.g., how such a system would be funded). The example regarding China is vague and lacks specific detail to support the argument effectively. To improve, ensure you provide more nuanced reasoning and concrete, well-explained examples that directly relate to the feasibility of providing free water to every home.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or missing. For instance, the transition between the introduction and the body paragraphs is abrupt. There are also issues with punctuation, such as missing spaces after commas and periods, which disrupts the flow. Referencing is sometimes unclear, and the logical progression between sentences could be smoother. Using a wider variety of linking words (e.g., 'consequently', 'furthermore', 'in contrast') would help connect your ideas more effectively.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and variety expected at higher bands. You rely on basic terms like 'very essential' and 'good care'. There are also several spelling errors, such as 'statment', 'serveral', 'counties' (instead of countries), and 'goverment'. While the meaning is generally clear, the lack of sophisticated vocabulary and the presence of spelling mistakes limit the score. To improve, focus on using more precise academic collocations and ensure you proofread for common spelling errors.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay relies heavily on simple sentence structures. While there are attempts at complex sentences, they are often marred by grammatical errors, such as 'no one could live out water' (missing preposition) and 'every one had a access' (incorrect article usage). Punctuation is a significant issue throughout the text, with frequent missing spaces after punctuation marks and inconsistent capitalization. These errors occur frequently and occasionally impede the reader's ability to process the text smoothly. Increasing the variety of sentence structures and focusing on basic grammatical accuracy and punctuation will significantly improve your score.
