Student answer (Band 6.0)
In a recent world, access to pure water has been became a serious issue. Some argue that access to purified water is a fundamental right. Therefore, all homes should be provided water supply at free of cost. I strongly agree with this statement because it is necessary for living and have accounted as a basic fundamental right.
There are many reasons for considering pure water as a basic duty of government to provide at every individuals house at free of cost. Firstly humans can not survive without water. Approximately 75% of the human body made up of water. So that people are wholly dependent on the clean water for both their growth and the survival. In a nut shell, it is a basic necessity which should be accessible to evey person.
Secondly clean water is essentail for the healthcare and to protect from different illnesses. People who can not afford clean water often caught by many diseases. For example, In most of the European countries, clean water is available for people at some cost, so some financially challenged people may rely on uncleaned water. As a result, large number of individuals struggling with health problems.
On the other hand, the availability of pure water is basic necessity for public at large, but providing it for free of charge is a challenging for many developing countries. However, this can be solved by making proper strategies. Like reserving a proportion of funds specifically for supply of clean water to every home. Consequently, healthcare sector also becomes better.
In conclusion, access to clean water is a basic fundamental right. Therefore it should be provided at every home and without taking any charges. However, it is not affordable for every state, but it cannot be ignored and proper planning and strategies should be made to deal with this issue.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the prompt, maintaining a clear position throughout. The arguments regarding health and human rights are relevant, though the development is somewhat superficial. For instance, the point about developing countries is introduced but lacks specific, concrete examples to fully support the feasibility of the argument. While the ideas are extended, they could benefit from more depth to reach a higher band. The position is consistent, and the conclusion effectively summarizes the main points, ensuring the task requirements are met.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear central topic. Cohesive devices such as 'Firstly', 'Secondly', and 'In conclusion' are used to guide the reader. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical, and there are instances where the flow between sentences could be smoother. For example, the transition from the health argument to the counter-argument about developing countries is a bit abrupt. Overall, the progression of ideas is logical, and paragraphing is used appropriately to structure the argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The range of vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express their ideas clearly. There are some attempts at less common vocabulary, such as 'fundamental right' and 'financially challenged', but there are also instances of awkward phrasing or word choice, such as 'uncleaned water' instead of 'contaminated water' or 'in a recent world' which is not a standard collocation. Spelling errors like 'essentail' and 'evey' are present but do not impede overall communication.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with articles ('at free of cost' should be 'free of cost'), verb forms ('has been became'), and subject-verb agreement ('large number of individuals struggling' should be 'are struggling'). While these errors are noticeable and occur throughout the text, they rarely prevent the reader from understanding the intended meaning. To improve, the student should focus on refining sentence construction and proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy.
