Student answer (Band 6.0)
It is often argued that access to pure water is a basic right of every human. Eventually, every home should have a water supply that provides water without any cost. Although, Some people believe that water should be sell on shelves or in the market, what i think is it should be free and everyone should have access to pure water because everybody cannot even afford water due to inflation and everybody wants to survive.
Firstly, it is substancial issue if everyone should have access to clean water. According to me, it should be free of cost to everyone because most of people may be cannot afford drinking water. For instance, In Africa there are still some communities who do not have access to pure water and they cannot purchase drinking water so they have to drink contaminated water which they even bring from miles of distance from their homes.
Secondly, the most signficant reason that people should have to water easily is that No one wants to die and everybody has a right to survive. if there is no water to drink or there is only contaminated water to drink then how can one survive. After drinking contaminated water there are dozens of disease that can bring person to death bed in days so everyone should have water supply to there homes. For example, the people can donate to those who dont have access to water and help to bring water to their home by insalling tubewells or making new wells so they dont have to travel for long to bring the water from their homes.
In conclusion, I believe everyone should have access to water because its the basic human right, Further, everyone has a right to survive and some people cannot even afford water.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. The arguments are relevant, focusing on the necessity of water for survival and the economic barriers faced by some populations. However, the development of ideas is somewhat repetitive, and the reasoning lacks depth. For example, the argument regarding 'inflation' is mentioned but not fully explored in relation to the provision of free water. While the response covers all parts of the task, the supporting examples, such as the mention of Africa, are a bit generic. To reach a higher band, you should aim to provide more nuanced arguments, perhaps discussing the economic feasibility or the role of government versus private sectors.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organised into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'Firstly', 'Secondly', and 'In conclusion', which help guide the reader. However, some transitions are mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'According to me' or 'Further, everyone has a right'. The referencing is occasionally unclear, and the flow between sentences could be smoother. For instance, the transition between the health risks of contaminated water and the suggestion of donating for tubewells is a bit abrupt. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring they are used naturally would enhance the coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the message to be conveyed clearly. There are some attempts at using less common vocabulary, such as 'substancial' (misspelled) and 'contaminated'. However, there are several instances of word-choice errors and spelling mistakes, such as 'sell on shelves' instead of 'sold', 'insalling' instead of 'installing', and 'signficant'. These errors do not impede communication, but they do limit the precision of your expression. To improve, focus on learning the correct collocations and ensuring accurate spelling of key terms related to the topic.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement ('most of people may be cannot afford') and article usage ('the people can donate'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with some run-on sentences and unnecessary capitalisation. While you attempt complex structures, they are often faulty, which impacts the overall accuracy. To progress, you should focus on mastering basic sentence construction and proofreading for common errors like verb forms and pluralisation, which would allow you to use more complex structures with greater confidence.
