Student answer (Band 6.0)

Nowadays, clean water shortage is one of the most grave concern in the whole world. Clean water accessability is one of the human's basic right. Many individuals think every home should have clear water supply free of cost. I partially agree to this statement for which vindications will be elaborated in the upcoming paragraphs.

To commence with, many reasons are associated with this statement. First and foremost is, water is one of the basic need of human. Nobody can survive without it. Secondly, water is gift provided by nature free of cost . So, no money should be charged on it. Another reason is, every individual pay tax for its basic need and facilities. So, they think that atleast fresh water should be provided to them without any chage.

On the other hand, majority of the water available on the earth is salty and contain lot of harmful chemicals and high amount of money is needed to filter it because, to filter the water it take many big mechanes which are not cheap. If government try to sattle these machine by itself, it will be a huge burden on the yearly budget of the county. Taking loan from other nations is also an option but sometimes it leads to backwardness in economy.

In conclusion, after analysing the study carefully, I believe that every house should have access of clear water but not free of cost. A little fees should be charged to decrese the burden of the mantainance of the machines and huge powerplants from government's sholders. It will be benifical for both public and government.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses all parts of the task by presenting a clear, partially agreed position regarding whether water should be provided free of charge. The writer extends relevant ideas in both body paragraphs, discussing both the arguments for free water based on human rights and taxation, and the counter-arguments concerning the economic burden of filtration and infrastructure on the government. While some of the supporting points are somewhat generalized, the overall development is sufficient for an IELTS Band 6.0. The ideas are relevant and support the writer's stance effectively.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a clear introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate different perspectives. Cohesive devices are utilized to link ideas, such as "To commence with", "First and foremost is", and "On the other hand". However, some referencing is slightly mechanical and repetitive (e.g., starting consecutive sentences with "Another reason is" and "So"). Progression is generally clear, earning a solid Band 6.0.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting less common items such as "accessability", "vindicated", and "infrastructure" (implied by context). However, there are noticeable spelling and word choice errors throughout the text, such as "grave concern" instead of "concerns", "clear water" instead of "clean water", "chage" instead of "charge", and "mechanes" instead of "machines". Despite these inaccuracies, the vocabulary is sufficient to convey the intended meaning, fitting the Band 5.5 to 6.0 descriptors well.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating some variety in structure. However, there are frequent grammatical and punctuation errors that persist throughout the text, such as subject-verb agreement issues ("every individual pay tax" instead of "pays"), article omissions ("on the earth", "burden of the county"), and prepositions ("access of clear water" instead of "access to"). Although these errors do not impede overall communication, they prevent the text from achieving a higher band score.
