Student answer (Band 5.0)

In this contemperary era, many individuals did not have acess to the clean water to drink and to use in their day to day life. A few individuals argue that acess of clean water is a basic human right and becuase of this authorirties should provide clean water supply in every acoomodation . I agree with this statement because dirty water is not only leads to serious health issues but also effects citizen and their surrounding.

To begin with, in many developing nations still there are many houses are is situated in which they did not pristine water to drink and cook. To exemplify, nations like India in many slum areas and lower middle class areas they did not have acess to clean water and also the supply water ratio is often very inadequate, therefore by drinking uncleared water citizens there are suffering from health predicaments like stomach and abdominal failure and various types of skin dieases are spreading where they live.thats why authorities should be implement pristine clear water supply to their houses.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear stance agreeing that free clean water is a basic human right. However, the essay is unfinished and abruptly cuts off in the third paragraph. Furthermore, the length requirement has not been met, as the response contains only 223 words, falling short of the 250-word minimum. This under-length severely limits the development of ideas and results in a penalty under Task Achievement. While the student attempts to provide examples such as conditions in India, the overall development remains partial due to the incomplete conclusion and brevity. Based on these limitations, a band score of 5.0 is appropriate.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organized into three paragraphs, though the final paragraph is incomplete and trails off without finishing. There is an attempt at logical progression, moving from an introduction to a body paragraph with examples, and then a final concluding thought. However, cohesive devices are somewhat mechanical or missing, as seen in phrases like 'To begin with' followed by overly long, run-on sentences. Paragraphing is initiated but disrupted by the sudden termination of the text. Referencing is occasionally unclear, such as 'where they live' and 'thats why'. Coherence is impacted by these structural issues, leading to a band score of 5.0.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, with several spelling and word-choice errors that detract from the writing. Examples include 'contemperary', 'acess', 'authorirties', 'acoomodation', 'uncleared', 'dieases', 'sacarsity', and 'awaring'. While the student attempts some less common terms like 'predicaments' and 'inadequate', these are overshadowed by frequent lexical inaccuracies and spelling mistakes. The range of vocabulary is limited and minimally adequate for the task. Communication is occasionally strained by these errors, placing the lexical resource score at a 5.0.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The text displays a mix of simple and attempted complex sentence forms, but these are frequently marred by basic grammatical errors. Examples of structural and grammatical inaccuracies include 'many individuals did not have acess', 'dirty water is not only leads to', 'many houses are is situated in which they did not pristine water', and 'authorities needs to aware'. Punctuation is also weak, with missing capitalizations at the beginning of sentences and missing terminal punctuation in the final incomplete sentence. Frequent errors cause some difficulty for the reader, matching the Band 5 descriptor.
